3 year old injured by crocodiles - man arrested

So I assume the man deliberately placed the child into the crocodile enclosure. Psychopath? Sounds similar to the man who threw the boy off the Tate?

(And also, not connected but these places are shit for the animals and should be shut down)

I was horrified to read this earlier! That poor poor boy and his family, and the witnesses.

I cannot fathom how this happened. I'm sure more details will emerge in due course, and severe mental health issues are surely the only explanation, but seriously how was anyone that unhinged in a position to do this ☹️

EstherGreenwood63 · 18/06/2026 19:31

Yes another lovely violent man. Throw away the key.

MidnightPatrol · 18/06/2026 19:33

It reminded me of the Tate incident too.

It’s a real challenge isn’t it, how do you deal with certain people within the community who have specific mental health issues. It inevitably comes out that they’d talked about hurting someone before.

Sarah2891 · 18/06/2026 19:34

Severe mental health issues probably. Poor kid.

purplecorkheart · 18/06/2026 19:37

Either a violent man of someone doing a "prank" for social media. I witnessed one recently where a man tried to push another person at a traffic crossing. Sadly this man fell into the road but the cars were going slow and could stop. "Pranker" admitted that his friend was recording when the two giant men that were also at the crossing got involved.

Silverbirchleaf · 18/06/2026 19:40

I’d forgotten about the Tate incident. Heard about this earlier. Poor boy and family.

PolkaDotPorridge · 18/06/2026 19:42

I just read this too. Fucking horrific. Shame the man wasn’t fucking eaten alive. Poor child and parents!

notanothernamechange24 · 18/06/2026 19:44

It’s not actually clear if the child was injured by the crocodiles or from being dropped/thrown/pushed into the enclosure. It reads as though the walkway is above the enclosure so the fall alone could have seriously injured the poor child.
really hope they pull through and do not have long term consequences from today.

Sweepyed · 18/06/2026 19:49

Theres a lot of people with mh issues who at one time would have been in a facility.

Once after work walking down street in brighton a man clearly not mentally well going around swinging about 6ft metal pole at people. That was 20y ago.

Some places restrict single men without kids entering.

MyPurpleHeart · 18/06/2026 19:59

I live just around the corner from this place and we went there with DD for mothers day this year (they have an amazing steak house on site)

The zoo is very small, and quaint. Its very well run and is reasonably priced for what you get to see.

That being said, when we went to the crocodile house I was a little alarmed how close you can get to the crocodiles. The barrier isn't very high and they are right in front of you. Most places with dangerous animals have a glass screen or chicken wire fence from floor to ceiling.

Of course that in no way justifies what some monster has done to a small child, whatever the circumstances or mental health of the individual. But I do fear the zoo will have some H&S implications after this

My heart goes out to the little boy and his family, I cannot imagine the horror that unfolded.

Its been a very dark day for news related to the harm of children. I cuddled mine a little closer tonight

Another violent man hurting an innocent child. Absolutely disgusting. That poor child and his family.

These places are vile and should be shut down too. Hopefully this closes this one and 'lessons learnt' for others

RudolphTheReindeer · 18/06/2026 20:15

i saw this earlier. I assumed a step dad had done it then saw it was a complete stranger. Utterly bonkers and horrifying.

FortyFacedFuckers · 18/06/2026 20:17

Absolutely horrifying

XenoBitch · 18/06/2026 20:19

From some comments I have seen on the actual zoo's page, the man had 2 carers with him. They are absolutely to blame for this (if true of course... what actually happened will come out eventually).

HuglessDouglass · 18/06/2026 20:21

Wow. Ok that changes things a bit if true. Fucking hell ☹️

Our local pages are reporting that he was severely autistic and had one carer, who was on the phone the whole time they were there

How true that is I don't know but ive seen that a few times now

Please don't come at me anyone for saying autistic - I would never try and diagnose someone just by looking at them. Thats just what I have read

Softplay, yes. A zoo... ridiculous.

That’s a bit premature given you’ve no actual idea what happened.

That came from people who were there posting on the zoo's page.

But like I said, the truth will come out eventually.

TBH, I hope it was the case about the carers so it stops all the xenophobic comments I am reading online about it. The racists are having a field day.

That barrier is completely inadequate. Any number of children are big enough to have got over that fence out of mischief.

It shouldn't have been possible for the attack to have happened.

And of course that sick individual shouldn't have been out in public.

I hope the child is going to be OK.

Addictedtoharibobutthestrawbssuck · 18/06/2026 20:36

On their social media page many people have said it was a man with special needs who was with a carer, so the carer needs to be investigated also.

My thoughts are with the poor child and his family.

Toastytina · 18/06/2026 20:38

Has he actually been injured by the crocs or the fall? What a sick man

You fund mental health services properly.

Instead, we'll likely end up with ableist comments if it turns out to be true even if the carer/s are to blame.

Poor boy. I hope he was injured by the fall and not both the fall and the crocodiles.

I don't believe they've released information about the cause of his injuries.

It's an awful situation and my heart goes out to the poor child and his family.
