How is Ariana Grande allowed to keep going?

She looks like she’s at death’s door with anorexia and yet she’s just kicked off a world tour.

I thought we were living in more enlightened times now and that celebrities’ ill health wouldn’t be enabled like this. If she went to any hospital she’d get admitted for malnutrition.

We don’t really know anything about Princess Catherine’s medical situation, she could have crohns or stomach issues, she definitely had a lot of sickness when pregnant so I think it unfair to just use the words eating disorder as it could be far more complicated than that. It always is. She has a light inside her and I think she comes across to me as a genuinely decent woman, and a great mother. I think she is absolutely beautiful too.

having had a relative with a bmi of 14.5 in the past, they were exhausted, barely able to function, definitely not thinking clearly.

Ariana looks dangerously thin, There is a real risk of her collapsing on stage in front of people.
For what?

People are right to say ‘stop’ here.

Edited

Are pepple suggesting that that was what was wrong then or something ? I dont get it. I assumed she got so thin because of the cancer. Durely that's what it is.

There’s so much vitriol, debate has gone out of the window on MN- OP you have a point and I hope she gets well

How?

Sit her down.

Say the words.

Assure her that everyone wants her back when she's healthy.

Family. Management. Record company. Her doctors. Friends. Even the bloody insurance company for this tour should have a vested interest in making sure she’s healthy.

basically anyone with a personal connection to her or who is currently making money off her.

she looks like she’s at the level of needing an involuntary hold for anorexia to me.

You mean the parasites.

Whoever she has a contract with should have a legal duty of care under basic health and safety at work Act.

AG isn’t an employee. She’s the boss. She’s the tour

If that worked we wouldn’t have anorexia 🤣

That's all the record companies/agents/managers and so on care about. The $$$$$. Tale as old as time, as someone said earlier, since the days of Judy Garland - and even earlier, people who are successful are treated like carthorses.

Judy Garland's agent's book is a horrible testament of human vultures and exploitation: Her management kept her in alcohol & drugs, because it was easier to steal from her vast earnings. Add in all the manipulative husbands and hangers on and you begin to see her talent and fame as a complete curse.

What happened to her at the end of her life was tragic.

It’s extremely concerning, and upsetting for me to see. Reminds me of my dear late sister. She suffered a cardiac arrest after walking home (on a non-strenuous flat road) from the bus stop. I cannot imagine the strain this tour will have on AG’s organs.

Lalgarh · 13/06/2026 09:31

I'm sorry @ISecretlyLoveBluey

She’s not.
Republic records own the rights to her songs.
Live nation entertainments pay for her touring costs.

She’s really not got as much autonomy as you imagine.

Neither of those things make her their employee. In fact, she’s clearly not.

From what I've seen and read, AG does not have much energy both physically and vocally, completely different from past performances. It is worrying that this could go on until September.

owning rights to songs and investing in a tour aren’t employment contracts. They’re investments. Company to company

They have a responsibility to ensure that the performer is fit/healthy enough to perform?

What is that responsibility though? Moral or an actual legal responsibility. And if it’s legal, under what laws?

How is she going to do a tour without the rights to perform her songs or a huge corporation to fund and organise it?

Charlize43 · 13/06/2026 16:13

I'm a bit worried about the moves. I assume I'll have backing dancers if I'm asked to step in and cover for her. I've washed my tights, so I'm ready for the World Tour. Can I bring my cat?

SurreySenMum26 · 13/06/2026 16:20

My sons bmi is 16. Only one person ever except me has ever seen this as a concern. No negative comments ever. Yet if he was that many points over a ideal bmi he would get stick.

IRL I only ever see extremely underweight people being looked at with envy. Even if that means they one meal away from anorexia.

My son couldn't pass his motorbike CBT as he could not hold up the bike. Yet if you was ask 10 people in our family if he looked great they would say yes. I don't think it's about healthy ( ds is clearly not in peak health) people care more what looks good and there will be a big majority envious of AG and that's pretty worrying but I don't see that ever changing.

I can't even get to the bottom of how thin ds is because everyone celebrates being emaciated.

I agree.

People will argue black is white on here, sometimes.

AG is unwell, and someone, probably her agent/manager should cancel the whole thing.

My niece has an ED, and had to stay off school, while she was really unwell.

So, how in God’s name can AG travel?? She must be fit for nothing.

JuliettaCaeser · 13/06/2026 18:26

She looks in no physical state to do a gruelling tour. The documentary about she who must not be named was interesting in showing how physically exhausting performing like that is - let alone the adrenaline of performing in front of thousands of people.

When dd looked like AG she wasn’t allowed to walk 1.5 miles to school let alone dance.

YellowElephant5 · 13/06/2026 18:29

If she can function well enough for a world tour it's really no ones business but hers. The whole UK sectioning thing is gross in my opinion. Adults should be able to live their lives as they please if they aren't hurting anyone else.

TalkToTheHand123 · 13/06/2026 18:30

I think she looks good.
