She looks like she’s at death’s door with anorexia and yet she’s just kicked off a world tour.

I thought we were living in more enlightened times now and that celebrities’ ill health wouldn’t be enabled like this. If she went to any hospital she’d get admitted for malnutrition.

I used to have anorexia, its not fully about what you look like. When I was at my lowest I could recognise i didnt look good, (I had lanugo hair like fur on my shoulders and arms, as well as being painfully thin) but it was about fear and control. Id tell myself that maybe I could allow myself x y or z food or get to a certain weight....but when it came to it, I just couldnt do that, it was too frightening

PoW was reported to have worn a Victoria Beckham design suit the day of the release of the VB netflix documentary where VB finally openly talked about having an ED after years of denial news stories such as http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/544766.stm Did wonder on the day if there was some subtle message in that or if I was reading too much in to it and she was simply supporting British design.

Ah thank you for explaining that it's not all about wanting to look like that - that's interesting for me to hear that you were aware of recognising that it didn't look good. I'm lucky enough to have not had an eating disorder, so there's a lot that I don't understand about it. All the best with your recovery. x

Sorry but that's a really crazy thing to think of. Why on earth would she wear that to suggest she had a ED?

I dont think VB is fully honest about having an ED, she talked about it - a few times -as if its a past experience but its clear she still does maybe at a more "manageable" level.
I think a lot of women in the public eye probably have eating disorders , just not got to the critical state that AG has.

The thing is it’s not about needing to gain money, it’s about losing what you already have. It could be tens or even of hundreds of millions that Robbie or Ariana have to pay in compensation and fines, AND they lose the money they would’ve made from the tour.

There was that lifestyle tip she gave about herself that she (VB) eats exactly the same meal. Every. Day. And sticks to that and nothing else. Princess Kate also has some sort of strict eating regime

I do think she's always been very slim, so she's built small. And Cynthia was smaller and just as slight on the Wicked promo trail.

But I won't deny she looks too skinny. I mean she looks smaller than plenty of people I've seen with very severe anorexia. Maybe not someone with a tube up their nose but only a few kilos above it. Sorry if that sounds crass. I've been hospitalised for anorexia myself and it's awful.

I once read that she and David went to some famous steakhouse in LA. He had a full steak. She had boiled spinach.

There was also an article some years ago in The Guardian, where a group of fashion journos were invited to spend a day in the HQ of her fashion brand. Lunch, as you'd expect, was very healthy: steamed white fish and a side of cherry tomatoes. VB had the same dish. Without the cherry tomatoes.

This is just silly. Clearly Ariana doesn’t just eat boiled spinach, she’d not be with us if this was the case and it’s perfectly ok for Victoria not to like tomatoes, my daughter doesn’t.

And yes, of course she simply 'doesn't like' tomatoes. Just as she doesn't like steak, or birthday cake, or, it would seem, much food at all.

What do you mean it’s just silly? No one said Ariana only eats spinach. Gordon Ramsey- a friend of VBs- said in an interview she came to his restaurant and ate spinach.

I think somehow Cynthia kept her muscle though, it's the lack of muscle that is so concerning- and of course why heart attacks can occur, the heart is a muscle that also shrinks with ED.

Those talking about obesity-it's not quite comparable, as to cause that levele of damage to your heart in your teens, twenties and thirties is very difficult, and those whose hearts are genuinely affected are likely to be so extremely morbidly obese they are not on stages performing- Lizzo and her backing dancers were all sizeable ladies but were way more athletic and would have good heart health compared with those at real risk of imminent heart attack through being very underweight (which IS the risk with ED).

Apparently her comfort food or guilty pleasure (that she doesnt eat very often) is a piece of toast with salt on it.

But I notice a lot of disordered eating attitudes on MN so its not surprising that people think eating a solitary piece of fish or a plate of spinach is a normal meal.

We've lost sight of what a healthy meal is.

VB does eat food like salmon, avocado, etc that she considers healthy fat. I'm not saying she doesn't have a disorder, but I don't want to endorse the idea that she's getting by on spinach alone, as she isn't, and that can cause harm to people who read it.

Name someone of Ariana Grandes (extreme thinness) level of fame and influence among young people, whose health is at serious risk due to extreme obesity?

Also the way anorexia works they look for any justification in their disordered thinking. Having a high profile popular with young girls figure like AG who is essentially modelling anorexia to her young demographic is really really problematic. I know it’s not her “fault” and she is ill etc but she (or her team/promoters) need to take some responsibility here.
