I need something "feel good" or uplifting to watch.

My mood has dropped spectacularly, my cup is empty. I am tearful, irritable. I would love to watch something that is light, funny, uplifting, anything really. Say I am drawn to misery and doom which doesnt help I dont think.

Please suggest something.

It's healing.

Hope springs. It’s complicated, mamma Mia (Meryl Streep theme here haha)
Notting Hill cracks me up. Bohemian Rhapsody.

and a big bar of lovely chocolate! Hope you feel better. Movies are always a nice way to forget for a while)

About Time is lovely.

Take care of yourself 💐

If you have Netflix, have a look at Holiday in the Wild. It is a Rom Com (ish), but is not all schmoozy. I am a man (FWIW), and I thoroughly enjoyed it by complete accident. I put it on to go to sleep to one night, and actually watched it. It has Rob Lowe in should that make any difference.

Schitt’s Creek is my go-to show whenever I‘m feeling low.

Or Help!

(I love musical films with exclamation marks in the title!)

Seinfeld is on Netflix, I'm finding that quite light hearted. I enjoyed four seasons too.

Second vote for 'The Other Bennet Sister' - or perhaps a classic sit-com?

Working girl with Meg Ryan.. I am listening to the soundtrack by Carly Simon both always put me in such a good mood!

Kayjay2018 · 06/06/2026 21:51

Ted Lasso if you have Apple TV - it’s not really about the football so don’t let that put you off!

60andcounting · 06/06/2026 21:51

Remarkably bright creatures, Netflix with Sally Field.. very good.

It was Melanie Griffith, not Meg Ryan. Agree it is a great film to watch when you need something simple and uplifting!

A couple episodes of Lucifer always perks me up. Pure escapism.
