My mood has dropped spectacularly, my cup is empty. I am tearful, irritable. I would love to watch something that is light, funny, uplifting, anything really. Say I am drawn to misery and doom which doesnt help I dont think.

Please suggest something.

It was Melanie Griffith, not Meg Ryan. Agree it is a great film to watch when you need something simple and uplifting!

Yes you’re right, gosh I always get them mixed up!

I'm feeling very much like you OP, I constantly feel stressed and on edge. But I can confirm that Rivals is an absolute tonic.

Rye Lane on BBC IPlayer, and you will thank me forever!

I think it’s the most perfect romantic comedy, and a real joy.
(Look out for the Colin Firth cameo)

Modern Family (on Disney +) - very funny and warm-hearted and you really become fond of the characters (and I don't usually like sitcoms).
