A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I also think the Labour Government are hoping for two (unlikely things to happen this summer) Firstly England to win the World Cup. Secondly the biggest story in the History in the World . That we are not alone to be finally disclosed. Baring either of these scenarios(or Both) actually happening, we are destined to be dammed by this Government for the next three years which will feel like perpetuity for us..

redange · 08/06/2026 23:02

its quite incredible that the Guardian of all should try to put the problem on people receiving the pathetic state Pension. This as at least 90% of its readers are no doubt on Public Sector Pensions themselves and also no doubt express opinions about how 'asylum' seekers deserve compassion and a swimming pool.

I wondered are you going to give the Pathetic Newspaper £12 a month to keep them going.....

@redange I was pondering on the thread the other day whether I'd made a mistake not going for Oxbridge as my teachers wanted me to

I would still say it's worth it because she may want to go abroad with it? Anyway, I'll still think it'll have value here. Unless we are forced more to the left, which I think will happen, but then there'll be a swing back

In terms of not being alone, for a minute there I thought you were going to say in terms of government

Then I realised you might mean aliens

Did you see that report that came out of the US, I think from the newly opened files, I think someone from the military is saying that he saw an aircraft of some kind landing? I wasn't really paying attention. But I did laugh because he said the people that came out were 3 or 4 feet tall and I was relieved because they are shorter than me 😂 I think I posted that here as well. Probably one of the less mad things that gets posted given that we normally talk about politics...

redange · 08/06/2026 23:28

Perhaps an Alien Human Hybrid breading program, David Lammy alongside Ed Milliband spring to mind..... The Aliens still have some technical issues to iron out ....

redange · 08/06/2026 23:42

What The Hell is happening to this country. (why is this not Major News)

This is what Chat GPT says about the street where the Shooting Took Place

Dale Grove N12 is a classic North Finchley residential street: safe, suburban, convenient, and family‑friendly, with good access to shops and transport but without the premium prices of Muswell Hill or Highgate.

SapphireCasino · 08/06/2026 23:48

@redange I actually know Dale Grove

There was a brothel down the road from there not long ago. I don't think we can assume anywhere in London is nice now sadly. Or maybe anywhere at all? Sorry to be depressing.

is it the fact that it was a shooting in particular?

When I was living in London, I knew of a couple of shootings in my local area. They were both drug related though. I mean dealers and stuff. Not saying that's the case here, just saying that these things do indeed happen and sometimes they don't make it onto the news at all.

No reports on the BBC of course of the horrific ‘stabbing’ (described as an attempted beheading by people who’ve seen the video) of a white boy last night on the Crumlin Road. Police of course playing it down.
Luckily it was all on video.
Needless to say tensions running very high in Belfast.

Just seen they have put a bland statement -so peoole will think it’s ‘just another stabbing’ -is is utterly horrific.I won’t put the details here as they are just too harrowing. If it weren’t for X we would all be oblivious.

Pacificsunshine · 09/06/2026 08:53

Who was doing the stabbing?

Missed that unfortunately.
I think she's giving a speech this morning? Hoping to listen to that.

I just saw it on Instagram. 🙈

EasternStandard · 09/06/2026 09:29

The descriptions are horrific, wtf is going on.

Nuthatch26 · 09/06/2026 09:49

I can't watch that video. The description is horrific enough. Reform are calling for the name and status of the attacker to be released.
Statement from the police expected later this morning.

It’s hard but I don’t watch videos either, I didn’t for GF even though it was everywhere.

I can’t with the typical don’t talk about it stuff on other threads.

You're right, I've just read the threads on this. They prefer ignorance when the facts don't fit with their narrative.

It's very strange how they verbally lynched the OP.

Happens every time when something like this happens. They'd rather stick their fingers in their ears and blame Musk, then go on protests shouting "migrants welcome".

Of course. Some get more upset at people talking about a horrific crime than the actual act of it.

LupaMoonhowl · 09/06/2026 10:51

And meanwhile more knife attacks at a school in Machester this morning.
I just despair for our kids 😔😔
