A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Hmmm.
£10bn (presented as £13.5bn, but £3.5bn was ghost money) instead of £28bn was the offer Healey resigned over.

Sorry, the increase in spending relative to GDP.

boys3 · 11/06/2026 21:18

Must admit I thought Dan Jarvis was better than this, then again a quick look at some his recent fb posts shows a worrying tendency for non-delivery cheerleading. So perhaps he thinks Secretary of Defence is more about defending the indefensible. I suppose we'll see....

Imagine the atmosphere in No.10 tonight? 😬

They'll still be ringing round trying to find someone to replace Al Carns now.

I can’t see Jarvis staying in post very long.

Middlerage · 11/06/2026 21:21

I wonder what kind of back room deal has been done to get Jarvis to agree? It’s got poisoned chalice written all over it. We’ll see….

Probably the same as the atmosphere in No.11. They'll be sending out for emergency supplies of Kleenex.

Sorry, the increase in spending relative to GDP.

Understood, making a seperate point but should have been clearer.
Just pondering if Starmer will get hammered for upping the offer after Healey resigned, when he could have done so before.

Oh, it's been a long day here, think my brain is grinding to a halt.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 11/06/2026 21:31

I’ve just read Carns’s full resignation statement. There was no need for me to try to read between the lines! Carns says it loudly: he’s well fucked off with the government’s legal harassment of soldiers. Good on him.

EasternStandard · 11/06/2026 21:59

The way bollard is depicted in the first cartoon is so funny. It’s how he is.

I can’t believe there’s still Labour cheerleading on here.

Was it Iraq when a minister gave a live interview, saying everything is fine when there were bombs landing behind him? 😂

Oh no, Parsley...that doesn't sound very relaxing! If he cares it isn't very clear what he cares about that he wouldn't uturn on a week later, it's definitely not country over party, it's not his party who is tearing itself to shreds...is it him, he cares about, that I could see.
