A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

@Noodledog yes I saw Liz Kendall's post on X and I would say that they would go after any form of media where stuff like what happened in Belfast might be posted

@justasking111 yes I am hearing that he is in stable condition, but I also heard that he had lost an eye? I really hope that's not correct.

Sadly, from what I have seen @justasking111 is correct. It seems he has lost one eye completely, and has lost the sight in the other. Currently in a coma.

There's nothing you can say about the utter horror of it really. That poor, poor man. I'm sure we all feel it .

Ok not in the UK but just saw that there was an attempted beheading in Fermo, Northern Italy when a man intervened to try to stop a gang threatening an old man. Victim also in a coma.
Just terrifying

There's been at least two beheading in France as well - Samuel Paty the teacher, whose sister is bravely fighting on in his name, and Father Jacques Hamel near Rouen.

Is that recent @LupaMoonhowl? Not much is coming up but I’m not on X so could be missing it.

Middlerage · Yesterday 09:07

Reeves et al have no grace she’ll have to be crowbarred out by someone, the only thing reeves believes in is herself.

wow 18th century press laws much? So he can crack down on x etc because it’s causing security issues but had to be shamed into action on child pornography.

doesn't that underline that they are a heart free
zone, as well as his unerring knack from being on the wrong side of what most people think every time. Most people don’t think the problem is being able to see what’s going on.

Great great on LBC

Other politician asked six times if beheading is an alien culture - usual waffle and inability

Kemi asked the same and - yes

A clear answer. Courage and truth right there

EasternStandard · Yesterday 09:31

Meant to say Kemi great

Nuthatch26 · Yesterday 09:56

Morning all 😁

I've avoided the news this morning. Its so depressing atm.

Great to hear about Kemi's interview Eastern. Who was the politician who found that difficult to answer? They don't help themselves do they? Of course beheading is an alien culture ffs.

I see a poster that the thought police don't agree with has been hounded off MN again.

It was Hilary Benn. He deliberately misunderstood and swerved the question about alien cultures.

I'd have loved to have listened to that. I cannot abide cowardly politicians, this grey rock strategy that they use to fill the air with non committal waffle and preserve their options and dodge criticism through the cowardly act of linguistic camouflage is gaslighting of the highest order.

It's such a relief to hear Kemi cut through the wall of nothing with plain and sensible language and her unguarded and unapologetic opinions.

Yes looking it up it was in relation to this

Hilary Benn, the Northern Ireland secretary, had responded: “I am sorry that the honourable and learned gentleman used the words ‘alien culture’; what exactly is he referring to?

LBC guy asked six times is beheading an alien culture

He couldn’t answer. Kemi simply said yes

I’m so sad we might not get her as PM, she really is the only one who can cut through on this and other stuff,

This really should be simple to answer though. Ffs

Andy Burnham has pledged to cough up compensation for WASPI women. Estimated cost £10.5bn.

Why? Of all the things to spend on. It has no impact on him winning or not, why is this his particular thing.

I feel like I’ve missed Burnham cares about this and why stuff

No surprises there. Starmer's empty pledge to support WASPI women must have won him a fair few votes and Burnham's seen his chance. I see double disappointment for any WASPI woman trying her luck this time.
