How often do 50 somethings have sex?

I’m not a man and I’m not a troll. I’m asking as I was at a book club this morning and this exact question started a heated debate! Many of the ladies were adamant that over 50’s married women rarely have sex with their other half’s. Surely that’s not right. So please tell me is it? Chat

I suspect there's huge variation. There was a similar thread some time back and there were many posters saying they had sex a couple of times a week. Then some said every few months.

Sometimes it's as much as 4 times a day but other times it might only be about once or twice a day

57/60. 3 times a week but we’ve only been together 5 years so that probably doesn’t count. I certainly know women in their 50s who claim that they are retired from sex. I can’t help looking at their partners as they loudly announce this but maybe they’re fine with it. Presumably we’ll all stop eventually?

No, haven't you heard all of the 5million or however many 50 somethings there are in the UK all have exactly the same amount of sex

Yep tried everything including every type of HRT and topical oestrogen.
Currently being investigated for an auto immune disorder as there are other random things going on.
The pain is unbearable.

I think it's sad. We're 60 and lots of my friends don't have sex or want it. What their husbands think I have no idea.

Impotence affects 60% of men by their 60s, so plenty are not.

It’s a lot more common than people think for men’s libidoes to decline in their forties/ fifties. They might be okay with it.

How is it sad if they are both ok with it? You said yourself you don’t know how their husbands feel about it. Maybe they are impotent, health conditions or have little to no desire themselves.
