Ha ha come to Cumbria. 17 degrees today.

I'd love a bit of 17°. Currently 12° and pissing it down in the Hebrides.

Clafoutie · 24/05/2026 14:32

PinkOrchard · 24/05/2026 13:19

I'm not coping either! Currently 34 weeks pregnant with a clingy 17 month old who we co-sleep with... 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

Oh bless you 🥺😫 I’m really struggling with health issues made worse by heat, but your post has put it into perspective/ made me feel less alone! Hope you can get comfortable soon, all the best.

Hedjwitch · 24/05/2026 14:42

A lovely 20 degrees in Fife with a cool breeze

28°!!

28? Is that all? I mean that's warm but not exactly unbearable. Just stay indoors or in the shade.

VintageLane · 24/05/2026 14:46

We’re in Surrey. It’s really blissful here. Pleasantly warm. Certainly no heatwave. Sitting outside with a glass of wine. Under shade, but I would never sit in the sun under any circumstances - too mindful of my skin.

MyCottageGarden · 24/05/2026 14:48

DobbyTheHouseElk · 23/05/2026 16:05

Where are you? In the UK? There’s no heatwave where I am.

Huh? I’m in North Yorkshire and it’s too hot to even be outside at all!

Tuxedomaddness · 24/05/2026 14:48

29c in the North West. 31c tomorrow.

Of course it isn't! I'm at the beach along with hundreds of others! It"s 29c and gorgeous.

Juliadiesalone · 24/05/2026 14:51

It’s not that hot. I wouldn’t go out and about in it or anything, but sat in the living room with the patio doors open it’s nice. A good breeze. I’m London too.

Growlybear83 · 24/05/2026 14:53

It’s 30 degrees in London and Ive been digging in the garden for the last couple of hours. It’s so lovely to feel the warmth, but whilst it’s not normal ro have such high temperatures in May, it’s not exactly unbearable for most people - it’s the sort of temperature thst many people expect when they spend a fortune on exotic holidays 🤣

Aww thank you. Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that - hope you're finding a way to make it bearable too!! Misery loves company! ❤️

Ice cream has been my saviour 🤣

All the best to you too!

I'm old enough to remember when 26 was considered a scorcher

Bring back the summers of 19°

dont worry I’m sure at some point it will be just that. and actually it is in some parts of the UK!

I am not coping

It’s not that hot and I remember many a summer a teen in the early 90’s outdoor pools and getting a tan before I went on holiday and then coming back in August and summer was over, even very hot May! I have an Exceptionally good memory

Andnowshesatoddler · 24/05/2026 15:35

midnights92 · 23/05/2026 16:21

I'm 35 weeks and completely done.

You have my sympathies I was around this four years ago and the heat was something else.

Yeah but you can take your time on holiday, sit in a/c restaurants and go in the pool. Normal life and work in 30° is just awful.

It may be awful for you, but I love it and so do most people I know. But I also love a really cold winter as well, especially thick snow. I think British weather is brilliant.

Marmaladeaddict · 24/05/2026 16:36

I’m very jealous. It’s not hot where I am.

JenniferBooth · 24/05/2026 16:43

Filling the bath with cool water so i can keep getting in and out Will be refreshing the bath water tonight so i can wash my hair Not going to use the same water thats been there for hours, A bath is all i have so tough shit

narcASD · 23/05/2026 17:44

I usually hate anything over 25 but since losing 4st I am coping much better, still too hot for me though, on holiday it's not too bad as have the pool, sea, air con and no work or chores. Trying to clean my house in this weather is impossible.

I cleaned all the carpets yesterday but it was (only!) 24 degrees! No way would I attempt it today! The great thing though is that the heat means the carpets dry quickly.

garlictwist · 23/05/2026 20:26

Ha ha come to Cumbria. 17 degrees today.

That sounds like absolute bliss compared to this. The only thing keeping me from moving there is the snow in winter.

HornyHornersPinger · 24/05/2026 17:27

It's currently 30 degrees outside where I am in Surrey and 28.5 degrees in my bedroom! I could cope with the outside temperatures...

Why don't you get a mixer tap installed? That's an easy way to get a shower.

Thmssngvwlsrnd · 24/05/2026 19:03

When I saw all the emojis in the title, I knew the OP would be you @mumofoneAloneandwell ! I'm currently waiting for it to cool down so I can take my little daschund for a walk. I'm dreading tomorrow as it's set to be even hotter here x
