I am not coping

22 degrees rising to 24 later, SE London. Still feels hot and sticky.

Im near the Midlands and it’s only 20c here at the moment but it’s so muggy and it feels so warm and uncomfortable outside. There’s just no air or breeze and I find it stifling.

It’s supposed to be heading up to 24-25c after lunch so I’m mentally preparing myself for another really miserable afternoon.

20 here but ive got the fan off, window open and i'm able to lay under the duvet!

Much more bearable here today ,still hot now 25 in bed.
Looking forward to a break from it but wondering what summer will bring /if this is spring !!

My flat was sitting at around 25 degrees and boiling inside when I got back from work last night 🥵. However, lovely cool breeze during the night and it's sitting at about 22....it actually went down to 20 but that funnily enough felt TOO cold, so I had to shut the windows when I woke up. It's funny how quickly your body can shift what temperature limits it considers as cold or not 🤣

I’m really anxious about it. I remember 1995 when it happened suddenly like this in May and it was the longest most gruelling May to September ever. I don’t think I have it in me to get through it, I’ve had a headache on and off for nine days now because of it.

But seriously though, anything under 30C is bearable (for me) and even up to 33-34C if it's NOT HUMID.

It was 23-24C last week (possibly the week before I can't quite remember) and it was 90% humidity! I was sooooo uncomfortable and felt physically sick. At 33C and not humid, I was fine.

Spain, Portugal, Italy, and The South of France (and other parts of Southern Europe) have been getting temperatures in the mid to high 40s for a few years now. (Maybe 6-8 years...) Horrendous! When DH and I used to go to Portugal, Spain, Italy, and The South of France back in the noughties, there were never temperatures like this. Even in July it was 33-34C tops. Where the fuck have these death valley temperatures come from?!

Obviously the UK is having hotter temperatures now too. I reckon it will PASS 40C this summer!

Yes as soon as the sun comes out it becomes unbearable. Does anyone think the sun has got hotter over the last few years? Or is my tolerance to it weakening now that I'm getting old?

It's just dreamy in London now - 22 degrees with some cloud. Lots of rain on the way from this evening but I don't mind - it's a break from the heat

There's no point trying to predict what the rest of the summer will be like - nobody has a clue. Let's just enjoy the cool while it's here!

Slept under the duvet with no fan on last night! Heaven. Much cooler here in Cheshire. Still too hot for me but much more manageable.
