A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Good to see Starmer and co use disappearing WhatsApp messages because they said something about being more transparent and different pre GE.

Who? Oh him! I forgot we had a prime minister.

Is anyone surprised that his messages weren't in the files? He's a useless, lying toad.

Sorry all, I didn't realise the link I posted wasn't working. Thank you @TheNoWord for sorting that out x

Definitely worth reading. Thank you @Nuthatch26 and @TheNoWord for sorting it out.

He is. Remember all the WhatsApp stuff from last gov and his outrage. Now he uses self deleting option. Sooner he goes the better. Can’t stand the hypocrisy.

The hypocrisy is, above all, the most distasteful thing about this government. Regrettably, a change of Labour leader/PM won’t make any difference to that.

Ikr.
No doubt he'll slither out from wherever he's been hiding to condemn the protests.
Kemi has been excellent, and visible.

He becomes more wraithlike by the day. The only thing that has any substance about him is his hair gel!

True.

DancingFerret · 03/06/2026 10:20

PMQs today are reportedly about Mandelson, but I think Sir Lindsay will have his work cut out to keep questions on topic - and, as usual, there's probably little chance of a substantive answer to any question from our joke of a PM.

SionnachRuadh · 03/06/2026 10:29

The Southampton protest initially looked spirited rather than riotous, but of course then MI5 Tommy's crew turned up and there were a few scuffles, which provides a justification for Starmer and Mahmood to deploy the Big Waggy Finger.

I know it's not the most substantive complaint about Starmer, but this is a guy who appears to think Adolescence was a documentary. It wouldn't amaze me if the PC Plods in Southampton had been made to watch as "training".

You think the people throwing bins and bricks and bottles at police were MI5? Seems a bit far fetched. Especially as a number of officers were hurt. Apologies if you were joking and I have got the wrong end of the stick or something.

Not sure that has anything to do with pps strange claims? But if being against those rioters last night is not welcome on your thread, fair enough. Your thread, your rules.

On the subject of training, I was listening to the Nicky Campbell phone-in this morning to a woman who said she'd been a safety trainer working for the Home Office.

I can't remember her exact wording, but it was something along the lines that she was shocked that Henry Nowak had been handcuffed behind his back when he was on the ground, saying he had been stabbed, and was obviously not a danger to the arresting officer - who should have been checking his condition, not handcuffing him. I think she said that in situations where an officer is not in danger the protocol is to handcuff in front in order to control a situation.

Whatever, I'm sure all this will be explained in the upcoming investigations.

Nuthatch26 · 03/06/2026 12:18

Starmer cuts a pathetic figure. He looks desperate.

Good.

Upstartled · 03/06/2026 12:22

It's pathetic. The only time the labour backbenchers find their voice is when they are jeering at Kemi - it demonstrates an interesting volume control to compare their support for Keir.

Omg, his face with Kemi brought up the disappearing WhatsApp messages 😂

DancingFerret · 03/06/2026 12:23

Starmer has copied Kemi's "pantomine" delivery. Someone should have warned him imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

EasternStandard · 03/06/2026 12:24

I want to hear the Pat McFadden line, I’m on Times so may be behind. Keep turning him off as unbearable.

EasternStandard · 03/06/2026 12:26

His voice and manner.. I just can’t.

Upstartled · 03/06/2026 12:29

How does this form part of the answer to the question of if the police were prejudiced in their treatment?

"We do not want this tragedy to be hijacked by anyone who seeks to divide us".

And why are his family requests for calm being used to obfuscate and misdirect blame away from the police ?

Upstartled · 03/06/2026 12:32

EasternStandard · 03/06/2026 12:26

I know. At least the same piss poor politics will be delivered by a less aggravating voice in a few months.
