Autumn, good for you! I think it's GREAT that you are taking on the marathon. 🙌🤗🩷

Moo, (see what I've done there?) 😁 It sounds like you're prepared. How did first day go? Was it a full day?

SoE, what an amazing time you've had! I might've missed it, but did you camp and hike? I've done that once, for the challenge as I'm not a camper, and it was three nights camping and hiking in the wilderness. It's a teal sense of accomplishment. 🙌🤗🩷

Petal, I'm sorry about your sister. How is she doing? I understand the worry as my mum has Crohn's and had an emergency and life saving resection a few years ago. Sending you and family love and support. 🩷🩷🩷

Winter, I think you wear glasses so you can see properly. They'll get a bit wet, but you won't be swimming. I wear daily contacts for swimming, but you must throw them away right after and rinse your eyes thoroughly with saline after due to the possibility of acanthamoeba /acanthamoeba keratitis.
👁️👁️

Katie, were you quite serious about running? I was for several years - not fast, though, but very good stamina - and did a few 10k's. I've gotten away from it, but would like to get back to it a bit. My knees are a bit sore, but I'm trying to do squats more regularly to strengthen around them for support.

Just had the handyman in to fix a broken drawer - I think I know how to do it now if need be. 🤓
Dishwasher done.
Mum's IV's done.
Bathroom except tub cleaned.
Kids are dressed.

Took kids to a bouncy park yesterday. It has become our end of summer/Labour Day weekend tradition. It's not cheap and especially not since both kids are charged now. But, they love it. 🤗 Funbox

Have now folded and put away 1/2 of laundry washed yesterday; fixed a child lock on a door; and boiling eggs for snacks. Will head out to pick up pics ordered to make birthday picture wall and return LED lightbulbs bought a few days ago. 5000 lumens is too bright and I don't like the light quality. It looks weird. I'm am losing my mind over nit being able to match lights room to room. There are three in the hall and one is a bit brighter and has a different colour to it.

OP posts:
Mumtobabyhavoc · 08/09/2026 03:27

Have now:
taken lightbulbs to recycling and managed to get there before closing at 4pm;
picked up pictures a d shopped around a bit;
went home, picked up kids and then took Havoc for a haircut;
bought sushi for dinner and some doughnut holes dessert;
walked around a bit at a square with a fountain and some games;
came home to get jackets and will head back out for a bit before kids need to get ready for bed.

Thats amazing @watchPhone well done x

@WintersFrog ozempic is slow going! It takes time to work though. Best of luck organising photos - could be a nice trip down memory lane

Thats amazing @autumnangel - i'm sure youll smash the marathon! But, booking flights to london, where are you? The crowd will be fantastic X

Sorry @Peridot1 🥺 - hope your sister will be okay, its rotten to be going through this.

@RunningKatie its easy to get into the food routine isnt it, once life gets busy

@petalpower youve reminded me I must chase up the dentist 😪, definitely an ouch.

Dd seems fine so far - shes exhausted as she had a late night last night, so crashed hard at around 6 and is waking up now bless her

Was quite chaotic yesterday so hopefully today will run smoother, but i had a few hours to myself and it was bloody lovely!

@Mumtobabyhavoc follow the link to see how pop singer Doja Cat got her start 👀

Funland sounds aptly named, I bet the kids loved it!

Love to you all, have a lovely Tuesday ❤️

watchPhone · 08/09/2026 08:33

@Mumtobabyhavoc no camping that would have finished me off! It was bad enough being out in freezing temps in the day.Although lying in bed on Saturday night in a wedding hotel in Wales listening to a wedding singer murder ‘Delilah’ - I really couldn’t take anymore 🤣 and camping did seem a better option at that point. Luckily the plug was pulled in him at 11 - otherwise I may have stormed the wedding 🤣

Mumtobabyhavoc · 08/09/2026 08:56

Moo, 🤣 Hadn't seen that one.

SoE, how were you able to hear the wedding? I must not understand to hotel set-up. But, I'm imagining being utterly shattered and sleep being hampered by a loud party and a bad singer ...ugh. 🙉
Hope you have had a good rest in your own bed.

I should be sleeping, too.
Took kids to park by airport to run around and watch planes. They were ready for bed when we got home. ✅

I've been reading school emails and trying to find activities to reg the kids for. Have been so busy that I've left this task late, so will have to see if we get some luck having been waitlisted. 🤞

OP posts:
watchPhone · 08/09/2026 10:13

@Mumtobabyhavoc my room was at the front of the hotel, just to the right and above the restaurant and bar; so audible and you could hear the singing - I did doze off until the wedding party all started to return to rooms boozed up 😂

SingleThreadJoiner2 · 08/09/2026 12:53

Hello all, pouring down with rain here, ugh. Barreling through admin tasks at work. New activity starting tonight for D requiring a very early dinner and a longish walk and then later bedtime so not sure how it will all work out.

To do -
call dentist for niggling pain
check something with building management of parents' flat

WintersFrog · 08/09/2026 14:14

Hello! Just reporting in with two physical photo albums done and a digital one ordered.
I wore an old pair of glasses to aqua fit as like @petalpower I have varifocals which i don't want to damage. Water/steam is very bad for the anti reflection lens coating. I learnt this the hard way through reading in the bath. I would love to get some prescription goggles for swimming lengths.

Impressed re the marathon @autumnangel!

Today's project job: clean a kitchen cupboard out.

Peridot1 · 08/09/2026 16:34

Hi all.

thanks for good wishes for sister. She is still in ICU but sitting in a chair and has her phone so we have been in contact. Just hoping she doesn’t develop an infection. She now has a stoma which she is hoping will be temporary.

Jobs wise I have been pottering about and actually getting stuff done. Usual laundry/kitchen/bit of vacuuming etc. But also finally de-cobwebbed and de-spidered my bedroom. And I have finally started on my wardrobe. I can see the floor!!! Hve sorted out some bags - tote bags and toiletries bags. Have a pile ready for charity shop. Plus some shoes and trousers.

The bed saga continues but they do admit the sizing doesn’t match the advertised size so have offered to change the mattress. Now waiting to see what the propose about the divan base which is also too short…

Lots of rain here today so no walk but the sun is out now and there is steam coming off the grass.

Have a great day all.

WintersFrog · 08/09/2026 17:19

Thinking of you and your sister @Peridot1 💕
I've been moving furniture round which caused some extra hoovering. Amazing what accumulates in the darker corners.
It rained all morning here and now it's glorious sunshine.

Jacket potatoes in the oven which will be paired with leftovers plus a salad.

Hope the activity goes smoothly @SingleThreadJoiner2

Mumtobabyhavoc · 08/09/2026 18:29

So glad to know your sister is up Peridot.
Good work making the photo albums Winter!

Have done parents' school orientation.
One of my mum's IV's done before I went out and about to do the other.

Feeling tired today.

OP posts:
WintersFrog · 09/09/2026 07:25

I think you have a lot to be tired about @Mumtobabyhavoc 🫂

I'm off for a walk, and then I am going to do some decluttering.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 09/09/2026 07:31

Met Havoc's teachers today, Havoc goes tomorrow for an intro.

Took kids to a lovely nee playground this afternoon and played them right out! Baby was asking, Let's go home now and began walking down the path to the car. 😂

I managed to finish up an online course I started several days ago then completed another while the kids played, though. ✅

Got home, gave the kids their baths, made dinner, got into garden and picked veg for my dinner salad, ironed (😱whaaaat???) kids clothes for tomorrow, got kids to bed and made this (pic) because I will be taking pictures tomorrow. 🙈😁

Morning all

Just a quick hello today - i spent far too long on mn last night and I am paying for it this morning, exhausted! Phone will be put away today.

Waiting to drop dd off, then hopefully home for a brief nap and a good long vacuum of the entire flat. Deep clean of bedroom and kitchen before pick up

Need to also move the laminate floor tiles off the stairs and into dd's playroom/the spare room, as theyre currently a health hazard

@Mumtobabyhavoc best of luck at kindergarten Havoc!

@Peridot1 i'm glad your sister is doing a little better and is able to sit up ❤️

Love to all ❤️

autumnangel · 09/09/2026 17:51

Thank you all re the marathon. A lot of work to do before then but it's something to keep me focused.
Good news about your sister, is she far away from you? @Peridot1 💐
Hope you're feeling better after the dentist @petalpower
@mumofoneisonozempic I'm in Glasgow. How was DD's first day at school?
The hotel sounds hell @watchPhone I imagine you must have been desperate for a good nights sleep
Well done making the photo albums @WinterFrogs this is something I really need to make a start on.
Hope everyone is surviving the kids being back at school / kindergarten / club ❤

I've not had much going on the last few days other than work unfortunately. Tonight I'm hoping to make some soup and get out into the garden for an hour to tidy up then get an early night.

Peridot1 · 09/09/2026 21:41

@autumnangel she is in Ireland and I’m in UK.

waves at everyone.

Hope little ones all get on well at school and kindergarten @Mumtobabyhavoc and @mumofoneisonozempic.

I was up early this morning and had a lovely early (for me) walk. Then back and got on with jobs. Tidied upstairs as cleaner was in. I’m in the midst of sorting my wardrobe so got a bit more of that done. Took five bags to charity shops but only managed to get rid of two. Picked up a mattress topper and bed cover from cleaners. Emptied a box of random stuff from DS’s bedroom clear out.

WintersFrog · 10/09/2026 07:18

Hope all goes well for Havoc at kindergarten!
I hope new school is perfect for DD @mumofoneisonozempic 🙏

I did a walk yesterday too @Peridot1 I did an hour's loop on local lanes and footpaths. In my wellies as the grass was very wet. I am sitting in bed debating whether to go for a swim or get dinner prepped before work.

There's a thread somewhere about a company that picks up donations I will look for it @Peridot1 ......

Anglo Doorstep collections. I'm quite tempted to book a slot for my mums house. I have been dropping bags here and there to various charity shops so as not to overwhelm any one of them and it's quite time consuming.

Am off to swim!

Have a good day everyone 😊

SingleThreadJoiner2 · 10/09/2026 09:07

Hello everyone, looking forward to hearing that all small people have had smooth starts at school!

Inspired by all your activity @WintersFrog ,I should take example. D's activity was good, thanks for asking, helped by there being a few other girls from school that she knows pretty well. They are older than her but to my relief were kind and inclusive and not cliquey at all (though since all their parents are absolutely lovely I shouldn't be surprised!).

Mad scramble to get the house cleaner ready this morning. Kitchen making good progress, some of the units are built, very exciting!

Two new babysitters trialed this week (I need two afternoons and couldn't find one who was free on both), both successful, so that's a big weight off my mind.

Back to tidying!!

mumofoneisonozempic · 10/09/2026 11:36

Thank you @autumnangel - it went okay, its getting better now shes settling in, fingers crossed for a good day today. I am a bit of a worrier. Fun fact about me, i've watched Two Doors Down so many times, I sometimes think in a glaswegian accent 🤭

Hope soup making went well

@SingleThreadJoiner2 glad dd's activity went well - worries about fitting in make it all the more stressful, but glad its a nice bunch - I bet you cant wait to have your kitchen sorted - just in time for soup season

@WintersFrog hope the swim went well! It cant have been easy getting out of bed to exercise but i bet it was worth it! - and Thank you, so far so good, but i remain on tenterhooks for the time being re dd's school!

@Peridot1 thank you x - youve reminded me ive got 2 bags worth of clothes and coats to try listing on vinted - but i feel like I might just give up and try donating them

@Mumtobabyhavoc love to havoc, hoping its all going well ❤️

Super exhausted 😩, I feel like i was clinging on til dd went back and now my body has finally accepted the exhaustion of the past year

Have a lovely afternoon all ❤️❤️

Peridot1 · 10/09/2026 12:50

@WintersFrog - I have used Anglo Collections before and I will again I’m sure but I just wanted these out and gone! If I don’t manage to get rid of them this week I’ll book a collection. I find they are a bit fussy though. They take clothes but wouldn’t take some other things once or twice. Pictures and lamps and cushions I think.

watchPhone · 10/09/2026 13:43

morning. Good luck to all the little ones starting new schools - how exciting - hope they all settle in.

Today

  • sibling on holiday from tomorrow so I need to plan my dog walking next week as my work diary is full to bursting and SpiritDoggo lets you know when it is time for a walk, and then lets you know again if you don't move quickly enough 😄
  • I am sure this has been on previous lists, but I really do need to get my car sorted (quivering at the thought of the cost) - Booked in for this coming Monday
  • refpilates tonight on the bus (sob)
  • put some piles of clean clothes away
A tiny list, but an glad to have found somewhere to look at the car. I just need to remember to keep the appointment ! Have a good day, SoE

Handy to know, thanks. I do get you with feeling things need to just be gone. Yesterday, if possible!
I'm doing mother's house and my own, currently. Fortunately I have the luxury of not needing to rush either.

I'm dreaming of the day mum's is sold and it's all done, and my house having absolutely nothing in it that us neither useful or beautiful.

WintersFrog · 10/09/2026 14:26

Sympathy re car @watchPhone! Mine cost silly money recently and the expense of keeping a car has been a hot topic at work recently. Along with how we're all doomed with AI, obviously.

I am not sure what you mean about refpilates on the bus? I could be being dim as I have had a morning of meetings.

I did enjoy my swim. It's a ten minute walk each way and i was in the water for about half an hour ( cba to count but it's half an hour in in the middle speed lane - maybe 20 lengths?) I'm aiming to do daily exercise early as a new commitment. Get in, get done, get out. Otherwise people ask things of me and suddenly it's teatime. Except one weekly mid morning class which I intend to ringfence.

@mumofoneisonozempic yes!! Time for heavy duty resting for you 😴 Though yoh know you'll blink and it'll be half term!

Right, I need to make the food that I failed to make this morning. Need to leave the house again at three. Quick bolognaise and a rhubarb fool. Dh likes rhubarb. I don't but I thought I would treat him.

Bye bye 👋 😘
