We are a kind and welcoming group supporting each other in our daily tasks to organize and declutter and stay on top of all that needs doing. We share our accomplishments and brain dump our to-do lists in a friendly chat over coffee manner. 😊☕️

Of course you are 🤦‍♀️ What an idiot I am 😂

I have been let off hook for my errand. Or, in other words, I delegated 😎 Am being domestic goddess instead!

Peridot1 · 10/09/2026 16:56

I love rhubarb @WintersFrog……

Update on Bed-Gate for anyone interested. They have agreed to collect the bed and mattress for a full refund….. I wasn’t giving up and just kept repeating that the stated length on the website was obviously not true. So now we need to go bed shopping again…..

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/09/2026 22:23

Winter, 🙌 to you for the swimming. I love swimming, but absolutely hate the faff of getting ready then showering again/hair/etc and more towels to wash.
SoE sorry about the car woes.
MOO, glad dd is settling.

Sorry for brevity 👆, but am wiped out. Was up til 12:30am making monthly collages of pics for Havoc's birthday picture wall. Decided to just get it all done even though my plan was to do 4 months then more tonight and finish tomorrow night. Got up and got my mum on one IV, am doing the other now. In between took Havoc to school for the allotted hour with Baby in tow; came home and packed up the kids' snacks and got them and my mum in the car off to hosp for med appt. Met with doctor to discuss plan which is another month of IV's, re-image and see where things are at. Popped up to visit someone else while there.
Came home and made everyone lunch.
Need to do a Costco run. Unsure about getting kids out now. 😵‍💫

I have 23 tasks on my to do list that keep getting passed from day to day then week to week because they're boring and I don't want to do them or they feel too time consuming or there is a cost involved so I ignore. Today, however, is the day! I know I say that all the time but I'm boring myself with seeing these on the list all the time. They're not even hard tasks and I'm making them into something there are not. Let's see how much I can get done today...

Exhausted here

Literally came home from drop off and climbed straight into bed - trying not to fall asleep but my eyes are drooping typing this

Love to you all, happy Friday

Also, 25 years since 9/11 today. Remembering that awful day, love to anyone on the thread who was affected ❤️

RunningKatie · Yesterday 11:59

Friday has arrived thank heavens, I should be in the office but I am at home supervising deliveries.
I found my summer jobs list this week, delighted to report I barely did any of the jobs on there. Must try harder in Autumn!
Glad that all little ones are going or starting school life ok. We're just over one week in, all good so far.
This weekend I am going to box up books for World of Books and I might try to figure out Vinted. I really need to start being a bit more ruthless, stuff is everywhere, and it's overwhelming me.
9/11 is such a poignant day, I went up to the top of the towers in the 90s, and watched on tv as it all unfolded - so desperately sad.

BerfyTigot · Yesterday 12:19

Fell off the thread due to illness and lack of motivation. Today's project is to put away a pile of clutter that's been lying around for about 4 weeks 🙄

I do like reading about everyone's successes though 😁

autumnangel · Yesterday 12:25

I cannot believe it has been 25 years @mumofoneisonozempic I was 16 and I remember exactly where I was and being a bit confused as I had no clue about the gravity of the situation.
I'm with you on the need to be more ruthless @RunningKatie I have so much to put on Vinted I'm starting off with the things I don't actually like first so I can ease my way into it.
Hello @BerfyTigot good luck with the clutter!

So far I have been for a run and washed my hair, neither of which was on the list so this is going well!

WintersFrog · Yesterday 14:22

Hello @BerfyTigot 👋 Lovely to 'see' you!

I have sorted another load of books and scanned them, and they've been in a bag waiting for a box to sent them in ( world of books also) I've just received payment for the first load I sent. And I have found a box the right size in a garden centre and bought more parcel tape, so slowly does it!

Good luck with list @autumnangel! I can't be doing with selling clothes, it's just too much for me so they just go in charity bags.

Out with family and friends tonight so no need to cook 😊

Hope Havoc got on ok @Mumtobabyhavoc

Good luck with searching for a new bed @Peridot1 and I applaud your persistence!

My boss gave me a lift home from work at lunchtime this day 25 years ago because my car was in being serviced. We heard the awful news on the radio and I remember both of us being silenced in shock.

Peridot1 · Yesterday 16:00

Hi all.

I can’t be bothered selling clothes either. They go to the charity shop - when they are actually taking donations obviously! I usually take stuff to the Debra shop in our local town - it’s a smaller charity for sufferers of Butterfly Skin so I like to support that as you don’t really hear too much about it.

@autumnangel - not sure how you feel about AI - I know it’s not great etc but I’m finding it really helpful with getting stuff done. I actually feel like I’m moving forward rather than swimming than swimming in circles. But if that doesn’t appeal just do ONE thing off your list.

I had a PT session this morning at 10.45 which sort of eats into the morning usually but I did the dishwasher, stripped a bed including mattress and pillow protectors and got them in the washing machine and vacuumed the kitchen and sitting areas before I went. This afternoon DH and I cleared out and cleaned the garden furniture shed and moved shelves etc around to create more space. So we can now gradually start putting stuff away. Then I remade his bed and vacuumed the room.

Chilling now with a cup of tea and about to read my book for a bit.

Peridot1 · Yesterday 16:10

Oh and yes it’s definitely hard to believe it is 25 years since 9/11. DS was five weeks old and I was staying with my parents in Dublin. A friend of mine came to see me and DS with her children and we were all in shock. But trying to shield her children from it a bit as they were very young. I remember sitting holding DS wondering what kind of world I had brought him into. Nobody knew if the attacks would continue. Where would be next. The shock of seeing the second plane hit. I’d heard on the news that one plane had hit the WTC and like so many assumed it was a small plane. We turned on the tv and saw the second plane hit. It is still almost unbelievable really. I took DS to NY for his 18th and we went to the memorial museum. I had been before but just as it was being finished and I wasn’t impressed. The second time with DS was much better if you can say that. It felt less touristy. More solemn. If you haven’t been there is one room with benches around the walls and a screen on each wall with details of various victims and some information about them and also names projected around the walls. DS just sat in that room for a very long time just watching and absorbing.

BerfyTigot · Yesterday 16:15

I have done it! I've finally cleared a pile of junk that has berated me every time I've sat down to watch TV!
Literally took 5 mins 🙄

autumnangel · Yesterday 16:32

Hope you enjoy your night out @WinterFrogs
Please tell us how you're using AI to help get stuff done...I need allll the help I can get! @Peridot1
Yay! @BerfyTigot it's never as long as we imagine it will be is it?!

I was going to send all the clothes to the charity shop but I've decided to sell them on Vinted and I'll use that money (probably not much) towards my fundraising total for the marathon. I might even get round to doing some of DH's clothes. That way I know it's all for a good cause and I might not feel so sad about getting rid of them.

So far I have booked my flight and hotel for London, completed my ESTA application for my trip to the US, ordered new bras and duvet covers & renewed my blue light card (all on the list). I've also done 2 loads of washing and got one dry and done a meal plan for the week.

petalpower · Yesterday 17:30

When I heard the news about the first plane striking I was in Snappy Snaps with DS in a pushchair and was just pregnant with DD then went home and turned on the tv. I can’t believe it was 25 years ago. It’s still shocking after all this time. Those poor people who died on that day.

petalpower · Yesterday 17:34

Did you enjoy aquafit @WintersFrog ?
How is your sister doing @Peridot1 ? Good news about the bed.
My head spins when I see what you achieve in a day @Mumtobabyhavoc . You’re a superstar!
Welcome back @BerfyTigot .
Sounds like you’re achieving lots @autumnangel . Have you got a training plan for the marathon?
Hope everyone else is well and all the school starters and returners are settling back in. I’ve got a hideous cold that has been passed around the family so haven’t been terribly productive. I’ve managed to clear a raised bed each day in the vegetable garden though as it was looking very end of season-ish.

FourSeasonsLobelia · Yesterday 18:38

Hi all. My computer is still kaput but I’ve tried to follow along with my old and sluggish phone.

where I was 25 years ago. I was 27 and working in my first ‘adult job’. I was in Russia and was out for dinner with my office to welcome a bunch of new American colleagues. I came home brushed my teeth listening to the news and heard ‘a light plane has hit the world trade centre’ I thought ‘well, that’s weird’ turned off the news and went to bed. When I woke up the next morning the whole world had changed.

I never saw those US colleagues again… they were recalled immediately. I was just utterly mortified that my dad in Australia rang my head office to ask what they would be doing to protect me. SO embarrassing.

I can’t believe it’s ‘only’been 25 years. My whole adult life has been shaped by it. And we continue to be in an unstable and dangerous world where multiple tragedies occur and occur again.

Peridot1 · Yesterday 21:23

@autumnangel well done on ticking things off your list!!!

How do I use AI? I use ChatGPT. I do use the paid version but you don’t have to. And at one point I just used Google AI. I basically said I had all of these jobs to do and was overwhelmed. It divided my jobs into sections. General day to day. Projects and things to move them on. This week I’ve been concentrating on my walk in wardrobe. I’ve done bits every day. Nothing big. Just chipped away. And then I update my Chat. And it is really silly but it helps.

@petalpower my sister is a lot better thanks. Out of ICU. Bored enough to message quite a lot today.

@FourSeasonsLobelia - where were you in Russia? DH was in Bulgaria. We were between postings in Vietnam and Bulgaria and I went to Dublin to have DS.

petalpower · Yesterday 21:31

That’s great news about your sister @Peridot1 - bored is good!

autumnangel · Today 06:37

@petalpower I am starting the whole running thing from scratch so I’m currently doing couch 2 5k which has been fantastic. 5 weeks ago I could hardly run for 1 minute and now I’m managing stretches of 5 minutes at a time. I’m trying not to push myself too hard as I’m really enjoying it and I don’t want it to become a chore.
@FourSeasonsLobelia Your dad doing such a dad thing made me laugh
@Peridot1 I never thought to use ChatGPT for help with getting organised. I know it is terrible for the environment but I do use it quite often so maybe I’ll give this a good. Glad to hear your sister is on the mend.

Last night I managed to tick 2 more off the list - go to Halfords for a winter check on my car and go to Home Bargains. I’ve got Parkrun this morning and I’m working in the afternoon but I’m going to try and get a few things scored off this morning if I can.

6/23

WintersFrog · Today 06:43

Bored is definitely good @Peridot1 and I hope she continues to recover well 🙏

@petalpower I kind of enjoyed it but everyone knew what they were doing except me! I've had a fit of enthusiasm and joined the local health centre so classes are 'free'. I'm planning to give various ones a go to find out what I like. I'll definitely go back to give it another whirl, and I'm sure I'll pick it up. The people in the class were all friendly which was nice.
I've started doing a few weights too, which is something I never thought I'd see, but that message about it being good for bone strength is filtering through.

@BerfyTigot that's always the way isn't it? These jobs we've been putting off never take as long as we think. It's really just more tiring to do the procrastinating than it is to spend five minutes on it. And yet we still do it!

Sorry you have been feeling rotten @petalpower. And yet still productive with your raised beds!

We had a lovely evening out thanks @autumnangel. Pub food not great but the conversation was. And that's the main thing. Lovely idea to sell your DH's clothes to raise money for the charity. I hope it helps you with such a sad task 💕

@FourSeasonsLobelia 🫂

WintersFrog · Today 06:49

Morning @autumnangel another one up bright and early! I hope you enjoy the park run. I did it a couple of times back in the spring. Such a lovely atmosphere. I mostly trudged with the odd jog thrown in but I wasn't last. Not that I'd mind if I was as I lack any kind of competitive spirit.

6/23 in a day is pretty good going!

@FourSeasonsLobelia's dad was very dad-like wasn't he? I can imagine my late dad doing similar if I'd have been out if the country.

WintersFrog · Today 06:56

My jobs for today are to pack my box with books and turn up my new tracksuit bottoms. I am working this morning but might do the box first and send it on my way there( a petal-errand!) as I need fuel and that's where the InPost locker is. I intend to do the turning up after lunch, then spend the afternoon with my nose in a book ( A Cuckoo's Calling, if anyone's interested)
Best get showered and dressed. Have a lovely day everyone ☕️

Mumtobabyhavoc · Today 10:42

I'm loving that a few here are starting exercise or upping their routines. 🤗
I'll add mine: squats, overhead barbell press and bent over barbell rows with my baby barbell.

It was a super busy day today with a parent-teacher meeting, playground/forest walk with the kids, dealing with an early delivery of med supplies I had to rush home to sort, shopping for some extras for Havoc's birthday, trip to pick up other medication, meals, baths, IV's, 2 loads laundry, then when everyone was asleep wrapped presents. I was done at 1:30am, but still trying to unwind to sleep. I'm going to load a few podcasts as that'll help.

Baby has taken to collecting things like rocks and bits of sticks. Pockets were filled with those and some chestnuts today. 🙂
