We are a kind and welcoming group supporting each other in our daily tasks to organize and declutter and stay on top of all that needs doing. We share our accomplishments and brain dump our to-do lists in a friendly chat over coffee manner. 😊☕️

We went to our local green armed with colanders but luckily ran into friends with glasses so were able to share those. It was very cool and the children were definitely impressed.

We have begun the major task of packing up kitchen things, which has already resulted in lots of rubbish being thrown out, a couple of listings on olio, and a large charity shop bag. But we have barely made a dent, it feels like...

kids school on YT: French numbers, colours, phrases and songs for about an hour, have moved on to English telling time and grammar.

Wildfire smoke has returned and made it hazy. Going to get kids out now while we can. It's already after 3pm. 😮

oh! Motivation is revving up to get back into painting. Paint store yesterday and bought paint and supplies. ✅
Spent a lot of time staring at big wall needing paint. ✅

Havoc just told me I should buy a Swifter Power Mop because it has jets on the sides and is a "better way to mop."

Woke up to vomit around 4am. Baby had crawled in with me and was sick. Not sure why. Took Baby's temp and it was essentially fine at 37.1c. That's just .5c above normal, iirc.
Stripped and re-made bed. Put some towels down just in case. Put duvet cover, sheet and pillowcases into wash which should be done soon.
Asked Baby what happened, why sick, tummy ache etc. Reply was a very indignant, I don't have to tell you anything. 😵‍💫😮🤦‍♀️
Ok, then.
Brushed baby teeth, changed clothes, washed face.
Changed my pj's.

Got baby a slice of bread with a smear of jam, half of a banana and some water.
Baby has just now gone back to sleep.
It's almost 6am and it's light out. Very smokey sky. Havoc's activity this morning is cancelled due to poor air quality. So, at least I can get a bit more sleep. 🤞
Laundry is almost done.

It's afternoon and I'm just going to roll out of bed. Grateful my mum watched the kids so I could sort of sleep. My mum came to see if I was okay, Baby came in to say was hungry (tell grandma, darling), Havoc to say, I love you, Baby again because grandma was trying to see if Baby needed a diaper change and Baby only wanted me to check (just tell grandma you're okay right now) and Havoc about what to watch in tv (tell grandma that mummy said cartoons are okay).

Bathroom
Teeth
Face
Water
Coffee
Check Baby's diaper
Make pancakes

First batch of pancakes are almost ready. Choc-chip w oats.
Have finished a latte (hot).

My mum's 1st IV is done, so will take pancakes off grill then switch her over to 2nd IV.

Will keep everyone posted. 🤣

busy times Havoc. Back from holiday, first thing I found was my debit card in the pockets of a manky hoodie 🤣

Hope holiday was good SoE. Glad you found debit card . Maybe attach a tracker to it? 💛

Afternoon was gone once we ate and my mum's IV was done and I cleaned up. I then spent some time chatting to elderly neighbour's family members as trying to help them become more involved in their sibling's care and they live out of country. I've been worried about this lovely neighbour who I used to spend more time visiting and who seems to have gone downhill in the past few months.

After that it was pretty much time to get dinner, but after a light meal both kids were crashing, so around 8pm I put a load of towels on to wash then I took Havoc out for a drive, found out there was an outdoor movie at a really nice park and headed there. Didn't stay long because of mosquitoes. 🦟

Baby was awake when we got home and kids were hungry, so put a meal together, had a bath and the kids put the towels in the dryer. 👏

The wildfire smoke created an errily beautiful sunset filtering out a lot of the sun's rays making to sun look like a very red ball. Pic is exactly how it looked.

Today:

• try and get some rings/water marks out of the bar table
• shorten some trousers - sewing machine needs to come back and I need to retrieve some cables I shoved away when doing the bunting.
• water the plants - SpiritDoggo has slurped away at my precious store of rain water that one of my indoor plants need!
• I absolutely need to book a hair cut
• Some boring ironing to do 😢

Had kids to Playland yesterday. I buy a season pass, so it's extremely good value and we've been almost every week since June for the rides , mini golf and the occasional treat.

I finally visited Stonehenge today. Been in this country for a very long time and never got round to it. It was a little busy but not unmanageable, and I enjoyed it a lot!

Away for a couple more days before re entering the fray...

I got the kids to sleep before 10pm, threw in a load of towels and for about a half hour was feeling a bit restless, so.... got the paint and supplies out and into the kitchen I went. 🤗
I wanted to get something done to make me feel like I am making progress without having to do a lot of prep which is really finicky and tedious.
So, I managed to paint the toe kicks and a bit of under-counter area and carefully free-handed painting the shoe molding, but I will have to go back and tape properly to finish it off. (Actually, my trick is to slide construction paper under the baseboard and just paint right along the bottom and carefully slip it out.)
I then painted a small baseboard in the living room and touched up various walls. Everything looks so fresh now!
After that I put the towels in the dryer, cleaned up, sorted the kids' laundry and put a load of their clothes in to wash.
I cleaned myself up, contemplated another bath, but decided washing up was good enough and put my pj's back on.
It's a bit warm here and was pretty hot while I was painting, lying on my side and belly to get down so low, even though the patio door is open and fans are on.
Anyway, decided I really needed froyo after that, so parked myself on the couch and ate right from the container. 😂 My kids would be so shocked at what mummy does when they're asleep. 🙈
Laundry just finished. Going to hang it up, brush my teeth (again! I had been planning to go to bed earlier...) and finally get into bed. It's 1:30am now... 😮

I am back! Been on our summer holidays, we tried to watch the eclipse through a colander. It did not work of course.
Other than that, 2 blissful weeks without work, although I missed my bed and pillow so much. I might be becoming a person who takes their pillow on holiday.
The weather has certainly turned a bit now, I've got a jumper on which feels strange.
Glad to see you all again, delighted the bank card has turned up again, @Mumtobabyhavoc you do seem to be working so hard. You need sleep!
We need a photo of the bold lampshade when it comes @Peridot1.

@Mumtobabyhavoc I did find it impressive. Just thinking of the engineering effort involved so many centuries ago to make it all stand up, line up, even get it there in the first place - it's quite moving really!

That's what I imagine! It's quite amazing. 🙂

@SingleThreadJoiner2 - could you get quite close up? I think Portrait Artist of the Year were there a few seasons ago and were able to walk around ‘inside’

Hi all- I'm in a houswork funk. Tired. Fed up. The place is an awful mess and our cleaner is due tomorrow.

@watchPhone not super close, and definitely not walking through them, maybe 100 meters? 200? I am terrible at estimating these things!! But close enough to feel the sheer size.

I sorted, filed or tossed the paper mail that I have had on the counter for at least two weeks, maybe longer. I'll go to the mailbox tomorrow again. 🙄
I need to sort a new mobile for my mum whose plan is ceasing due to equipment upgrade so her very old flip phone at $25 p/m will no longer work and she'll have to go to a plan of at least $50 p/m, get a smart phone plus pay some sort of fees up front. 🙄
I also need to call internet provider and get clarity re recent bill. Last month's breakdown of charges was cheaper than this month and I just had the loyalty dept decrease charges, so need to give them a call.
Admin is such a pain.

I was in the garden earlier, picked some lovely tomatoes and checked the mouse traps I set. A very clever mouse has managed to steal a small cherry tomato from one trap two days in a row. The other traps are untouched.

@Mumtobabyhavoc - impressed with your late night painting. I never do anything once dinner is done.

@SingleThreadJoiner2 - the only problem with Stonehenge is how close they built it to the A303 road, 😜. If they were that clever they should have worked out that thousands of years later cars would slow to a crawl as they passed and there would be constant traffic jams. It is pretty impressive though. I took my dad a few years ago when we lived in Somerset as he’d always wanted to see it.

@RunningKatie - it’s this one. I have it on a dark blue lamp. Which is on a dark green sideboard.

Ive cancelled the cleaner and I'm on strike until the weekend when I am making DH clean up with me.

DS1 got his GCSE results. He passed everything and even got a surprise 8 or two. We are absolutely thrilled to bits and his English teacher said to me; 'I KNEW you'd cry!!'. He;s in his same school for A levels and has chosen quite a nice selection of complimentary topics.

He's now out with his bestie so I'm heading to the pub for a glass of wine to celebrate.

Oh well done to DS @FourSeasonsLobelia! Enjoy your wine. Much deserved.

I'm so thrilled. It's been such a rocky ride over the past 4 years or so. His scary French teacher (old school French teacher, very stern, very forbidding and utterly marvellous) gave me a hug and said how far he'd come.

I promised him I wouldn't cry. In the end I only cried 4 times at the school itself, so I almost kept my promise!!

I so get that! DS had a hard time with GCSEs too. He did his at home in the dining room with an invigilator. He missed so much school with daily migraines. He came through it, did well at A levels with just a few bumps along the road, got a first at uni including top of his year for his dissertation and then did a Masters. Got a good first job and this week started a new job and he is buzzing. When I look back it’s almost hard to believe.
