We are a kind and welcoming group supporting each other in our daily tasks to organize and declutter and stay on top of all that needs doing. We share our accomplishments and brain dump our to-do lists in a friendly chat over coffee manner. 😊☕️

Today

• finally posted paperwork back to pension's person
• a birthday present has been posted out
• gone back and forth about a visit to a friend's new house. We are currently NOT going. It may change
• now that we have been the tip at the weekend I keep finding other items that should have gone and have amassed some things to fall over by the front door.
• i need to get my bunting mojo back as I have 3 weeks to make metres and metres of it
• I sanded back all the wood filling I did - it now needs a repainting and we are all good to go

No uni books here either! Only got into audiobooks recently as a way to sleep but that moment seems to have passed. And every now and again it's useful if I'm struggling to focus.
I've had a peopley day today so i am very tired. Also stairs. Used slow cooker so dinner is ready and I am very grateful to my past self for getting it going this morning. Also routines so all nice to come home to.

Also grateful that my beloved is working late today as I need peace and quiet.

Hope your mum is doing better @FourSeasonsLobelia - so glad you're able to be there for a while to help out.

My TBR pile grew a bit after a visit to my mum, but I've got a few books stashed for my holiday plus one on order that is due to arrive the day after we leave. Excellent planning there.

Just done a supermarket dash whilst dc were at crafting session. Now I have a mug of tea and I'm watching the football with dc2.
I have been in a spectacularly bad mood this past few days, got my annual review at work tomorrow so really need to get over it before I do something dramatic and very daft.

My aqua fit class started back today after the pool being closed for over 3 months for refurbishment. I am SO tired from the class and have just fallen asleep on the sofa! I think I will be very stiff and sore tomorrow.
In other news I had my mammogram results (all fine, phew) and had a dentist check up (all good too). We go on holiday in Friday for a week - UK self catering. It’s to a place we’ve been before and there are very few shops so we take most of our own food and drink. At the moment I have lots of lists of jobs to do before we go and food to buy and prepare both for the holiday and for DD and DS who are not coming with us. They are both busy and working so I like to leave easy food for them to reheat or cook.

Condolences re the soccer today friends. 💐

I took my mum to emerg so missed the game. She had pain and swelling in her hand on the same side as the IV. Called clinic and was advised to go to emerg to rule out a clot. We didn't get out the door for a couple of hours as I had to get the kids ready, fed, cleaned up, dressed, pack snacks, get a few chores done while they ate, but once there we were in/out in just about an hour. Doctor had read my mum's records and was well apprised when he came in, immediately said not a clot on exam, listened so patiently while I recounted all the IV mishaps as I was worried I had done something harmful, but reassured it was an anomaly, was not concerned especially as it was already resolving on its own.
Ran my mum's IV without issue once home and made blueberry pancakes for late lunch/early dinner.
Have changed my mum's bed and folded/put away clean clothes.
It's warm here at 27c. 🌤️

Petal, good for you getting right back to the pool! It feels so good being in water. I should look into classes like that...

Peridot, my math says you've got a book a day for 15 years. ☺️ What sort of books are you drawn to? I went through a phase of re-reading my textbooks. It sounds boring, but doing it out of curiosity was a lot more enjoyable than when I had to read them. 🤓🤷‍♀️

Fairly eclectic tastes really @Mumtobabyhavoc. A bit of this and a bit of that really. Your maths has scared me a bit! Crikey. I read a lot on beach holidays so obviously just need to do that for the next 15 years! Doom scrolling has got to stop too.

Glad everything was ok with your mum in the end.

I must give aqua fit a go @petalpower. I’m not great in indoor pools though. The smell of chlorine makes me panicky.

We watched the football at some friends last night. They have a pub in their garden. It was good fun but disappointing result obviously.

In other news DS has gotten a new job which he is chuffed about. He was a bit bored where he is and couldn’t see any progression route. New job is closer to home, working in the office four days a week and a lot more money.

Today’s list:

• laundry
• take a return to Waitrose and get a few bits
• pick up a parcel
• charity shop run
• get passport photos done
• apply for new passport
• water garden and do some deadheading (we are not under a hose pipe ban apparently but haven’t been watering as often as we were but the plants really need a good soak.)
• Read!

Meanwhile, I am in a call queue to speak to a bank. I opted for an occasional beep rather than music and SpiritDoggo has scarpered. I feel sorry for the person who had to record the recorded message who blatantly doesn't believe a word she is saying, but is trying to keep a cheery demeanour 😄 (and it's not for a lost card 😄) I feel like I'm in a submarine and slowly losing the will to live.

Today

• dead-headed the roses. I have to keep slapping myself because I seem to have gathered up random insects. Lovely
• Tried to persuade a star jasmine to spread out across the fence instead of out. That really should have been a winter task.
• To tip or not to tip, that is the question, possibly yes as I am falling over stuff by the door.
• I need to find a car hire that allows dogs in the car. The last time I hired a car I had to sign a specific dog disclaimer which I've never had before
• Desk, not tidy needs to be.

Right, bank call sorted, out to walk SpiritDoggo if I can find her, she is usually agitating at this point. She gets very excited over what is essentially a short drive, a hop out of the car, finding a stick and then she is done, have a good one, SoE

Peridot, reminds me of the many, many, shows, series and movies I had on Netflix during the pandemic. I finally had to stop myself from adding new ones until I watched everything on my list which took a few months, iirc. 😂
SoE, those queues van be the worst. 🙄

Have got my mum on the IV. Had to sort missing supplies by calling pharmacy. School for the kids this morning was watching YT vids of baby chicks hatching and puppies feeding from their mummy and explaining what mammals are. 🤓 we'll do math and French before going out. Plan was the beach, but it is now fully cloudy, so keeping options open. Have done a load of laundry and hung it up. Kids hung up their own. I only had to straighten a few things, but really all was pretty good for 2 & 4. 👏👏👏
I've read about giving kids chores helps build their self-esteem and gives them a sense of belonging in the family.

Definitely get them doing chores as a norm @Mumtobabyhavoc. I failed miserably at my hat.

BTW @Mumtobabyhavoc - DH disputes your maths. 180 books at a book a day is 180 days. Not sure where 15 years is coming from? (I’m not saying it’s not a lot but I’m feeling a bit better. 😄😳)

Festive mood here - last day of school today, and D's 7th birthday party tomorrow. Thankfully in the afternoon so we have all morning to finish prepping. She is very excited, not looking forward to bedtime...
(her actual birthday is later in the summer but if we don't celebrate now all her friends would be on holiday)

End of term yesterday for the primary school across the road from us. Yay! Quiet road for a few weeks.

@Mumtobabyhavoc - that cake looks good! You will be happy to read no new books were ordered.

Not much achieved here yesterday. PT session in the morning and DS dragged me shopping in the afternoon as he decided he needs new clothes for his new job. He is so fussy. Then he wanted new glasses but couldn’t see any frames he liked. Fussy again. Then we went next door for dinner.

Today we have my PT’s husband coming to try to fix the door and some other issues with our log cabin/garden room. I have laundry and general tidying to do and as it’s not too hot yet I will do some pottering in the garden. Village flower show is this afternoon so might pop to that.

How are things with your mum @FourSeasonsLobelia ? Hope everyone is doing ok.
Thank you for the holiday wishes @Mumtobabyhavoc . We arrived after 7 hours of travelling from one side of the country to the other. It seems to be cooler here than at home but that’s not necessarily a bad thing for getting out and about. We are staying near the coast with lovely walks and have brought Petaldog who is not built for the heat being black and a bit shaggy coated.

Mmm, I love key lime pie! Party went well thanks, though too much leftover in the way of drinks and snacks... Undercatering is my worst fear but I always end up too far the other way!! Luckily it's all packaged stuff that will keep for ages!
lots of thoughtful presents including three lego sets, she's very happy indeed.
