We are a kind and welcoming group supporting each other in our daily tasks to organize and declutter and stay on top of all that needs doing. We share our accomplishments and brain dump our to-do lists in a friendly chat over coffee manner. 😊☕️

Oh, yes, today was Day 2 of home IV. It was a disaster, though. Almost the entire bag sprayed out onto tub, towels, me, my mum. 😵‍💫😧 Lovely. 🙄 The line clamp wasn't working properly and I obviously missed signs it was all going wrong as a non-RN.
💕to nurses💕
Anyway, called hospital and got walked through it over the phone and it worked, but it should've taken a half hour to administer and the bag drained into my mum's PICC in 15 minutes. So, it was dripping too fast. I think I will ask to do one at the hospital again. I am clearly missing a step.

I’m just watering pots and planters plus veg garden but not grass or shrubs. Also watering plants in the greenhouse. It just takes so long using watering cans instead of hose but it’s been so dry I’m not surprised by the ban. We’re in the driest part of the uk too.
Surely you’re supporting the England team @Mumtobabyhavoc ?!

Just seen your post about your mum. It all
sounds very complicated to a non medic. You’re doing an amazing job.

It's a good game (currently 1:1 @75mins), from what I can manage to watch with my two dc running around.

Oh @Mumtobabyhavoc Thanks That sounds so hard with managing your mum's IV. That is a task.

My mother is very tired, and spending the day in bed today we hope. I worry she wants to do too much because we are here, so may decamp again to a hotel to give her space and take any sense of pressure off her.

Anyway-.... Hot Vikings win it, personally, for me. No sense of loyalty I am afraid. Blush The UK will revoke my residential visa if I'm not careful!

Nice goal England @ 92:51. 👏

Norway's goalie could've used some help. 🤦‍♀️

My shocking question to DH yesterday afternoon.... ( saw an MN thread about was it rude to leave a planned evening out to watch the football)
Is (are?) England playing tonight?
His face 🤣

Anyway I am glad you all enjoyed watching hot vikings and guess I'm glad England won don't care They might be deporting me and I was born here @FourSeasonsLobelia 😎

I'm sorry it got a bit tricky with the IV @Mumtobabyhavoc and agree with the nursing love 💕

We don't have a hosepipe ban yet but I'm behaving as if there is @petalpower It does take ages doesn't it, and I haven't even got that much to water this year.

DH has been glued to the Scottish Open (golf) and I have been feeling somewhat jealous of their weather up there ( drizzle)

Love to your mum @FourSeasonsLobelia. You seem to be pacing it well 💐

All I can hear is seagulls this morning. Noisy things. Far fewer little birds around this year. Very noticeable 😔

About to make smug soup while it's cool. Have a good day everyone 👋

Hi all.

@Mumtobabyhavoc - I’m not sure I would even attempt to administer an IV. Hope you manage to get it sorted.

How annoying about your hair @petalpower.

Hope you get your mum to rest @FourSeasonsLobelia. I’m sure she wants to do as much as possible with you all while you are there.

We apparently have a hosepipe ban (I think) too but I am ignoring it I’m afraid. Not watering the grass obviously (which is crispy at this stage) but I’m doing my pots and all the new drought resistant plants I put in earlier in the year. They will all be ok once established but this year they need watering in. As do our new trees. I’m careful with the hose and only do what is needed but I refuse to cart watering cans around. We also have soaker hoses in the beds by the patio and apparently they are ok.

I ended up going to watch the football with DH and DS. It was supposed to be just males as our friend’s wife wasn’t supposed to be there but she was in the end so DH messaged me and asked me to go. It was a fun evening. They have an amazing pub in their garden. I drank too much wine though…….

As an Irish person I usually support whoever England are playing and DS was definitely supporting Norway but I found myself supporting England. I get emotional seeing them singing Wonderwall with the fans at the end.

Today’s jobs will be planting two new plants I bought yesterday and sweeping the covered area outside the bifold doors as I want to tart that area up a bit and one of the new plants - a fern - is for there.

Then I am reading for the afternoon. It’s pretty windy here today and supposed to get windier so might be inside rather than outside.

I can report the IV went very well today! 🤗
The clamp def was not tightening yesterday.

That's good news @Mumtobabyhavoc! Hopefully all can happen at home going forward 🙏

Lovely restful day here. I've spoken to all my children and one brother but neither DH nor I have left the house or spoken to anybody face to face. Barely even each other as I've been in the garden while he's had the golf on. And he cooked dinner ( well new potatoes to go with salad) while I was chatting on the phone 💕 And washed up and made an eton mess type thing for pudding 😋

Have done some reading, WhatsApped friends, done a load of washing, set up work for the week, practised some French, done some colouring and brain dumped about some worries over handling my mother's affairs. Tried and failed to get my phone to connect to my earbuds which is frustrating as there is a lovely but very noisy family enjoying their garden. I don't mind the noise but i find it uncomfortable overhearing their conversations. And absolutely sweet FA otherwise. Oh I made the bed and cleaned the loo. And did some exercises. But I always do that. Feeling all refreshed as last week was busy and stressful.

If i can tear 'himself' away from the golf I might see if he wants to start a new series on the telly.

This weekend has gone by very fast!

WinterFrogs · Today 19:32

What are you reading @Peridot1 ? I am reading Book Of Fire by Christy Lefteri and it is very sad. Just downloaded Jinny of Finmory, recommended by our own @FourSeasonsLobelia as a series she enjoyed as a child, so hoping it will be an easier read.

RunningKatie · Today 19:36

What a glorious Sunday afternoon! We've just been to the cinema, for a cool down. Yesterday afternoon I went out for cocktails which meant by the time the football came on, I was ready for a good snooze!
Well done on the IV line @Mumtobabyhavoc - that is such good news.
Hope your mum isn't too tired @FourSeasonsLobelia and is really enjoying having you all there.
5 school days to go! One is sports day, one is trip day so just three days of uniform to iron and then we are done!

Peridot1 · Today 21:48

Well done on the successful IV@Mumtobabyhavoc!

@WinterFrogs - I’m currently reading a definite chick lit book at the moment. Have lost my reading mojo and dropped off the Read What You Own thread. Current book is Golden Girl by Elin Hilderbrand. I have some new kindle purchases though….. so much for reading what I own! 😂🙄

@RunningKatie - a cinema trip sounds ideal in this weather. Happy last week of school!

No gardening was done today as it was so windy. I did have a nap on the sofa though….
