Good morning!

A very important question for the thread.

I have two whole sea bass in the freezer which have been there either 9 months or 18 months. I forgot about them and can't remember if I bought them last year or possibly the year before.

They are vacuum packed.

Will they taste awful? I really fancy some grilled fish.

Please eat them

Please eat them

Is that because you want me to expire from fishy poisoning🤣?

They have defrosted now and look, feel and smell fine, so will be grilled later on 😋

I have 2 dogs. The British one is flopped in the shade under a bush, alternating that with the slate floor in the kitchen. The Spanish one is happy that he finally considers it warm enough to lay outside.

DuncinToffee · Today 11:06

You have inspired me and I have taken some sea bass fillets out of the freezer.

I will probably top them with a caper, lemon and dijon mustard dressing and put in the oven for 12 mins.

Where I live is always the hottest place at night. Not fun.

cardibach · Today 11:26

I love the heat but will admit the Global Stage tent at Hay Festival yesterday was a bit much! Very humid in there. The things I saw were worth it though.
Today I’m sitting in t( cool trying to get rid of thee migraine that’s been popping in and out since Friday (and probs wasn’t helped by all the heat and light at Hay) and half watching the Urdd Eisteddfod on S4C. Would be good for my Welsh if it weren’t for the (reasonable) preponderance of North a Welsh dialect and accent up there on Ynys Môn

PickAChew · Today 11:39

Our oven is resolutely staying off, today. I cooked some chicken thighs, yesterday, and the younger men of the house will be having theirs cold with airfryer chips for DS2 (He has to have his regulation crunchy brown potato with his dinner. He even calls dinner "chips"!)

Had grilled bass with a pecorino and breadcrumb topping in Taormina and it was flipping gorgeous. Enjoy 😊

That is pretty sickening. How could Sturgeon not have noticed anything amiss? Has he pleaded guilty to save her appearing in court?

Efacsen · Today 13:38

Agree £400k is a vast amount of money even spread over a 12 year period

placemats · Today 13:52

It's £33 grand a year over 12 years. Sturgeon is now divorced and cleared of all charges. Not every couple have a joint account.

BIossomtoes · Today 13:54

To be fair I probably wouldn’t have noticed. Our finances are separate and unless there was ostentatious spending I’d be oblivious.

I'm making turkey fried rice with broccoli for dinner - the spicing includes gochujang.

We always had separate finances too - mainly due to late DH being paid in $ not £, but also because my parents never had fully pooled finances either.

DuncinToffee · Today 14:15

I don't know. If DH bought a £4,000 pen, I wouldn't have noticed as I don't expect a pen to costs that much. If he came home driving a Jaguar, I definitely would have queried it

She must have had some suspicions, she is savvy enough

I've got boiled eggs, potato salad, green salad, tzatziki, hummus, tomato and warm pitta bread for lunch and supper today. Plus a couple of beers.

eta Tzatziki, hummus and potato salad all home made.

Efacsen · Today 14:16

There were a couple of high value items mentioned by the judge - a top of the range Jaguar and a motorhome - which might have stood out from 'normal spending'?

Karistyleaftea · Today 14:25

@placemats Would you be kind enough to share your hummus recipe if you are able?
I love the stuff but seem unable to make anything remotely comparable to shop bought!

Karistyleaftea · Today 14:26

There should have been a please in my post @placemats -
sorry!

It was Jamie Oliver. https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/vegetables/simple-houmous/

I don't always like his recipes but this works.

Have you ever wondered how to make hummus? This easy homemade hummus recipe shows you how! It's great with crudités and warm pitta breads for dunking.

You have to blitz it for a good while and I only have a small food processor
