@BestIsWest I won't be happy either. I'll look at what she has to say but I think it's the wrong decision

BestIsWest · 12/05/2026 07:44

I was depressed that all the comments on FB seemed to agree with her too @grannycake

@BIossomtoes so sorry to hear your news, please feel free to DM if you would like to chat, my DH is extremely ill now and I hope that it is more of a bump in the road for you and your DH 💐

I was thinking yesterday that you hadn't posted here for a while. So sorry about your DH 💐

Depressed at all the manoeuvring this morning. My own MP has stated that she’s coming out against Starmer with a statement to follow today. She’s already lost DHs vote.
If the LP elect Streeting as leader I will most definitely be resigning my membership. I’m on the verge of it as it is.

I would only vote for a Streeting led Labour party to keep Reform out. I can't stand him. He is a nasty piece of work.

Zonder · 12/05/2026 07:46

I'm so disappointed in how Starmer turned out but surely they must have learn from the last Tory government that chopping and changing PMs isn't the solution. They can't ever show any solidarity.

Will lead to a never ending clamour for a GE "X or Y have no mandate" sort of thing.

@BIossomtoes & @Evenstar So sorry to hear this news, puts everything into perspective

TemperanceWest · 12/05/2026 08:08

We are going to need that new thread soon @DuncinToffee !

Zonder · 12/05/2026 08:19

Exactly @Alexandra2001 and it will lead to Reform taking it as another victory for them.

@PolitePombear

Politely, takes those pompoms and stick them where the sun don't shine whilst kissing Nige's ring

Exactly @Alexandra2001 and it will lead to Reform taking it as another victory for them.

I'd have thought Labour would have realised by now that whoever is their leader, the media will turn on him/her.

My advice (not that he'd ever seek it or take it) would be fight any challenge, be far more decisive (stop seeking bloody consensus all the time.. LEAD!!) and bring fwd the manifesto promises.

e.g Falmouth Dockyard has just lost a refit contract to the David Attenborough ship, gone to a Danish yard, due to rules introduced under Sunak.... Govt says they will revoke these 'rules..... but why the heck, after 2 years, are these rules still in place???

TemperanceWest · 12/05/2026 08:35

In some ways I agree @Alexandra2001 . He has bugger all to lose by staying on, really. Stay on, be bold, deliver the manifesto.

In reality, Labour is just going to tear itself apart, I think. I hope I am wrong though.

DuncinToffee · 12/05/2026 08:37

We will see what happens.

Mahmood and Streeting don't exactly fill me with confidence.

Nor me.

Plus there is the little matter of Streeting's tiny majority. I think that says a lot about how popular he would be as PM.

Is it me or is Badeoch very quiet atm?

DuncinToffee · 12/05/2026 08:42

We should have the meet up in the parliament bar and invite Starmer, he is not going to ignore the advice of smelly cat loving lefties Grin

Yes! We could sit him down and talk some sense into him.
