It's an almost hilariously bad speech.

Trying to both pander to the right by talking about immigration (but not doing anything about it) and trying to pander to the left by talking about renationalising British Steel (whoopsie-doo).

HoraceCope · 11/05/2026 10:26

get on with it!

HoraceCope · 11/05/2026 10:27

so is he going to change the status quo?

pavillion1 · 11/05/2026 10:27

He just doesn’t get it

I really do want Keir to stay as PM, but I do wish he would get to the point and explain HOW he is going to start changing things.

pavillion1 · 11/05/2026 10:28

Surrounded by his rent a crowd furiously clapping every 15 seconds

Only lasted 5 minutes. It's awful and his delivery is annoying.
It's easy to say all these things, but so far they've not delivered anything

pavillion1 · 11/05/2026 10:31

Bless him , he thinks he’s just delivered a blinder

OP posts:
HoraceCope · 11/05/2026 10:31

but what about north sea oil?

Well, every party has this, so it's not a fair comment.

Hallowedturf · 11/05/2026 10:32

He’s not listening, is he?

The bloke’s a turkey and it’s Xmas Eve.

EasternStandard · 11/05/2026 10:32

I’m not listening but second hand is excruciating enough. His family? He’s on the ropes.

ProudAmberTurtle · 11/05/2026 10:32

He's got a three-pronged plan to Make Labour Great Again:

  1. Renationalise British Steel - which employs less than 3,500 people
  2. Give more taxpayers' money to the EU - it wasn't clear what we'd get back in return for that
  3. He wants younger people to get more jobs - it wasn't clear how that will be achieved

That was it!

Unpaidworkmakestheeconomytick · 11/05/2026 10:34

If he read the phone directory he would sound more interesting. He seems completely unable to deliver a meaningful speech.

They're excruciating and totally out of touch.

"We need to move forwards and not .. backwards"

Cheers and applause from the seals.

HoraceCope · 11/05/2026 10:36

that's good, to work closely again with the EU

HoraceCope · 11/05/2026 10:40

another YT scheme?

1.I mean we do need a steel industry at home because of security but it's hardly a massive big whoop. Nationalise the water industries maybe.

  1. Just bloody rejoin the EU. No referendum, do it now and ask in 2 years if people want to leave. He has nothing to lose
3. They have cut the adult skills budget by 6% , apprenticeship offers are on the floor already and cutting adult skills provision means no money for staff to facilitate learning on the apprenticeships or other training needed to get young people ( and the unemployed) into work. A bit crap overall, but the problem is everyone else is either worse or will get nowhere because it's the party who are the problem.

Starmer says government will ban far-right agitators from travelling to UK for march planned for Saturday

who are these people?

ProudAmberTurtle · 11/05/2026 10:46

It's now a Q&A and he's so far not answered one single question, but just keeps saying "What we inherited was so much worse than we realised".

Even the clapping seals have stopped now and seem to be napping.

No idea what he is talking about .. The last march that Tommy Robinson organised was absolutely respectful and trouble free . Certainly didn’t look to me like FAR right .. Just normal everyday working class people.

Working people need to feel better off. It really is that simple. Key word is 'Labour'. No-one should be better off not working than working. No matter how many children they've chosen to have.
