Is it an 11 egg omelette too much?

Would you say an 11 egg omelette, roughly 3 times per week, is a lot/too much for 1 person?

it is quite a lot. We eat 10-12 a day between 3 of us though.

DamnAFloppyLettuce · 09/05/2026 07:22

Why do you ask?
11 is such an odd number. Why not round it up to a dozen?
Is this a genuine question or were you bored?

Yes, of course it is.

33 eggs per week for ONE person is ridiculous unless they are some elite athlete and it's part of their training diet.

Gaston and the fact you don't know who he is🤣
11 eggs 🤣
3ft frying pan 🤣
You threw it in the bin and stormed out 🤣

This is a brilliant thread

But will the OP be back? 🤔

Is he Gaston?

😆

Really? ‘My wife eats at least 33 eggs a week, is this a lot?’ would be a controlling question? Every day’s a school day.

If a man posted on here saying that he argued with his wife about her choice of food and then threw it in the bin and stormed out then yes I’m pretty sure everyone would rightly say he was being controlling

Jk987 · 09/05/2026 07:38

Why not chuck the 12th egg in instead of leaving it on its own in the box? 😯

NotNigel · 09/05/2026 07:45

Substance · 08/05/2026 21:56

How did they land on an even 11? Did they start off making 10-eggers and then one day thought, gosh darn it these omelettes just aren't filling me up?

One more for a round dozen 😍

😂😂

borntobequiet · 09/05/2026 07:47

Eleven is an odd number, in both senses of the word. But, to answer your question, yes.

Yes very gassy

edit: Gaston? I don't know how that is sorry I'll look them up

Edited

He’s a gassy Gaston

Jitterybugs2 · 09/05/2026 08:04

I want to know who is the greedy fecker who’s eating a single egg and depriving the poor man of having 12. Very selfish.

user3769863490 · 09/05/2026 08:05

Why are you worried OP? If he’s an adult and cooking it himself whats the problem? I wouldn't be impressed if DH was policing my eating habits…throwing it in the bin and storming out over a bit of dinner is pretty extreme OP, is this really about eggs?

Agree 11 is an odd number, but its also quite a neat odd number, I’ve always thought of it as an honorary even number, sitting there with its neat, tidy, two pen strokes…😂

Devondevs · 09/05/2026 08:06

I’d have an 11 egg omelette if I had a pan big enough! That sounds amazing

I normally use 4/5 eggs

Cleocaterpillar · 09/05/2026 08:06

11 bombaclat egg?

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 09/05/2026 08:16

FourBlackCats · 08/05/2026 22:26

It being 11 is what bugs me the most about this 😆

Me too, it would offend me less if he used 12.🤣

ParmaVioletTea · 09/05/2026 08:17

Substitute egg whites for about 8 of the eggs, and add lots of vegetables - tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach. Then it becomes a really healthy and highly satiating meal.

MummyWillow1 · 09/05/2026 08:18

Do they ever poop? That amount of eggs would play havoc with your gut.

Eggs are also expensive.

Omelette's should also have veg in them to counter act the inability to poop afterwards - adding veg to an 11 egg omelette would feed a family of 4 a decent meal.

CDTC · 09/05/2026 07:13

I mean it's not ideal from a cholesterol point of view but why did this end up in a blazing row? Why did you throw his omelette in the bin? Asking advice is okay but why are you telling him what he can and can't eat?

It was a “blazing row”. So I think OPs OH is as much to blame. She didn’t throw it in the bin because she protested at him eating it, she threw it in the bin because of the “blazing row”.

It' a myth that eggs make you constipated.
'Egg bound' is a term that applies to hens; not humans.

Expensive? No.
I pay £1.50 for 6, free range, major supermarket.

You’ve obviously never been a big egg eater 🤪

I get that but why did it end up in a blazing row? Is she demanding that he can't eat the eggs anymore? It's not up to her what he eats

JacknDiane · 09/05/2026 08:43

Greedy bugger

MNLurker1345 · 09/05/2026 08:45

@CDTC, well she clearly has a problem with the size of his omelettes, hence the thread.

I have a problem with the amount of Asparagus my DH eats when in season.

Small issues between couples, that sadly in OPs case has resulted in a blazing row. I hope they kiss and make up.

WestwardHo1 · 09/05/2026 08:51

Is he Roger Hargreaves's Mr Strong?

sueelleker · 09/05/2026 08:51

Chocolattcoffeecup · 08/05/2026 21:36

i suppose it depends on the size of the person but he'd have to be overweight to need that many eggs surely

Or some type of athlete that needs a lot of protein? I want to know what you'd cook an omelette that large in!
