Is it an 11 egg omelette too much?

Would you say an 11 egg omelette, roughly 3 times per week, is a lot/too much for 1 person?

Just read that he goes to the gym.

absolutely none of your business then. Imagine if he threw your dinner in the bin because he didn’t agree with what you were eating. Absolutely controlling behaviour. And no context in initial post so you could win that argument.

OnlyHasEyesForLoki · 10/05/2026 19:52

I’m surprised he ever has a poo! Eggs are very binding! But I supposed being a man he never has that issue! 🤣

Stressed and fed up with him eating 11 egg omelettes?

With the situation she described in her posts, I imagine.

With the situation she described in her posts, I imagine.

All she said was that he eats 11 egg omelettes. I'd be fuming if a partner decided I shouldn't be eating something and then decided they could overrule me and throw it away.

It's different if she's the one cooking it, she can throw it in the bin then, but she doesn't get to control it if he's making them himself and if she's stressed about it that's her problem.

WTF … yes!!! 😮 Ridiculous

I’m with you, 11 is just weird. Eggs come in 6, 10, 12 … why would you use NEARLY a dozen? 🤯

Don’t tell him that - he might increase it to 12!!

Narwhalsh · 10/05/2026 20:25

Eggs are a highly nutritious food. They don’t cause constipation.

For an adult male who is building or maintaining muscle and looking for a good protein source with good nutrition they are great and calories wise this isn’t unreasonable for one meal.

Padz12 · 10/05/2026 20:34

I worked with a guy who was a body builder and he would eat 40 eggs a week!

Beerhy · 10/05/2026 21:22

Why did the idea of just one lone egg in a dozen box pee me off more than the actual issue at hand 😂

landlordhell · 10/05/2026 21:25

Outrageous if he’s eating it all himself im one sitting. Fine if he’s making a big tortilla to be cut up and portioned over a week.

CupcakeDreams · 10/05/2026 21:28

So, this man eats 11 eggs and the OP was angry because she wanted to eat a takeaway with her drink?

He's into strength training and she's into........being angry at a man for needing protein for his training and....using MN as evidence while she eats junk food? And, he's the crazy glutton? The charlatan? The insane person?

What the..

Am I getting this right?

Clafoutie · 10/05/2026 21:50

ShakyBake · 09/05/2026 21:23

Apologies for delay , not long came back

Yes he is involved in weight lifting and it's 11 eggs because I buy a box of 12 and the twelfth he eats raw (in a glass) so it empties the box.
The row last night was caused because he didn't understand why people were talking about his bowels but I said that's not the point. I can see there has been some really useful nutritional information posted since (thank you), I am tempted to show him again as think it would be useful but I'm not risking it at the moment as can't go through all that again. I'll show him tomorrow or print it out before I go to work and leave it .
Thanks again all

Never let bowels come into a row OP

Never let bowels come into a row OP

Thank you , I've calmed down now and realised I flew off the handle (I didn't chuck omelette because I wanted a takeaway but because we argued over egg quantity). I recovered the pan as I chucked that out too so all back to normal and no real loss (just the 11 eggs)

Why is it outrageous? Eggs are a very good source of protein and healthy fats, as well as micronutrients, for relatively low calories.

Just because you wouldn't eat an 11 egg omelette, doesn't mean a male bodybuilder (probably weighing 100 kilos or so) is outrageous in doing so.

What's "outrageous" is @ShakyBake throwing out a perfectly good omelette.

Howdidlifegetsobusy · 10/05/2026 22:18

Yep very ridiculous. 3 eggs is a normal size. 11 is gluttony and excessive cholesterol. I assume they are either a weight lifting gym obsessive and doing it for protein?

its certainly a recipe for a heart attack and furred up arteries.

Thissideof40 · 10/05/2026 22:18

OMG I have 2. Anymore is too much.

ThatLemonBee · 10/05/2026 22:46

People are so dramatic in this thread . We have our own hens and lots of eggs my 4 year old eats 2 eggs a day , some days more and I often eat 3 , no constipation issues , no high colesterol , it’s just supper nice a yummy .
Furthermore the OP wanting to control what partner eats is NOT OK

Fiftyandme · 10/05/2026 22:47

What a ridiculous thing to do. Stop controlling what he eats

All of this in spades.

No, it’s not.

Thanks for updating, OP. Hope you’re ok.

Meanwhile the thread will no doubt carry on pointlessly with posters banging on about calories, portions and bin crimes.

CupcakeDreams · 11/05/2026 00:27

How do people in this day and age not understand or know that cholesterol doesn't come from eggs?
