Is it an 11 egg omelette too much?

Would you say an 11 egg omelette, roughly 3 times per week, is a lot/too much for 1 person?

A trainer at the gym has a 12 egg one.
I suppose there's worse things you could eat. Alcohol, smoking, lots of sugar and social media are probably far worse.

Ninjachicken · 09/05/2026 00:20

Just of course, just ridiculous, you are right!

KitTea3 · 09/05/2026 00:22

I will hold my hands up and admit I love eggs, I love a good omelette! But 11???? Jesus Christ how big is this damn thing??!! 😱

I thought me using 4 eggs was excessive!! 😱🤣🤣

I'll update tomorrow as showed him this post (I know, I know) and had a blazing row and I've chucked the omelette in the bin and gone round to a friend. I'll update tomorrow

Why did you throw it in the bin? It's a comically large amount but unless there's other issues why do you care if he eats that?

I do wonder how large your pans are though...

God he sounds choice. Does he normally behave like a giant toddler?

I find protein obsessives deeply annoying, and as pp said there's only about 6g of protein in one egg anyway. It's a lot of stodgy constipating gunk for the same amount you'd get in one steak, if you eat meat.

This will be deleted but I need to ask...do you genuinely belive this and if so do you have any critical thought?

Rather un-PC to admit it, but alcohol, fags, sugar and social media are fun*.
An 11 egg omel** is not.

*I've grown out of that fun, but it used to be!
** With thanks to pp who caused me to laugh out loud with the omel pondering.

Came on here to ask that! Grin

🎵🎵🎵
When I was a lad, I ate four dozen eggs
Every morning to help me get large
And now that I'm grown, I eat five dozen eggs
So I'm roughly the size of a baaaaarge!
🎵🎵🎵

Gaston came to mind too!

I am in no way a competitive under eater but that does seem like quite a lot of eggs. I make a mega frittata and usually put between 10-12 eggs in it and it usually does two of us 3 meals across a week! That is with potatoes and veg etc - and I suppose I am not a 6 ft weight lifter. The calorie breakdown posted by a pp does not seem too bad, however if nothing else…it seems a bit dull to just eat that many eggs and nothing else!

Egg-cessive, even

Can you share a diagram of the size of the frying pan please, with a person for scale . I’m struggling to visualise this epic portion.

The thought of 11 eggs in one go makes me feel queasy.

I have 3 at the most.

But it sounds like you have bigger fish to fry...or eggs...if you've fallen out over this!

AWeeCupOfTeaAndAnIndividualFruitTrifle · 09/05/2026 01:01

I must admit that I do on occasion go unashamedly OTT and treat myself to a supreme Wallace & Gromelette.

Villanousvillans · 09/05/2026 01:30

It’s fine for a family of four. I really don’t know how one person could eat that much in one sitting. 🤮

Bloody hell @ShakyBake, I hope things will calm down tomorrow.

Eleven eggs and a flaming row isn’t healthy.

Imagine a man was here controlling what a woman ate

Really? ‘My wife eats at least 33 eggs a week, is this a lot?’ would be a controlling question? Every day’s a school day.

ThatLemonBee · 09/05/2026 03:03

Zov · 08/05/2026 22:53

Not when you eat 11 in once sitting. It is far too much choleseral, fat, and calories. 2000 mg of cholesteral in fact, and almost 1000 calories. All in one sitting. No way is this 'healthy.'

Egg colesterol is not unhealthy that is a old myth and far from the truth

You binned his meal? You do realize that sounds abusive?

cannynotsay · 09/05/2026 03:11

Gaul · 08/05/2026 21:49

Weak numbers, now that I'm grown, I eat five dozen eggs. So I'm roughly the size of a barge

My favourite response ever

Ponderingwindow · 09/05/2026 03:12

As for excessive egg consumption, it’s more eggs than I could eat.

i don’t get the people complaining about constipation and gas. Eggs are the perfect food. They digest easier than almost anything else I eat.

Zanatdy · 09/05/2026 03:19

Wow, madness. I use 2!

Are you worried about his health?

Or are you just annoyed that he’s having so many eggs that there’s none let for you?

If it’s the latter, tell him to buy his own eggs.

MyTrivia · 09/05/2026 03:52

Dodorogers · 08/05/2026 21:37

Is he Gaston?

😂😂😂😂

That many eggs a week and your gut is going to rebel, I’d say.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 09/05/2026 04:01

I stand by my opinion that Gaston's song contains some of the greatest lyrics ever written. I don't know of any other lyrics that manage to mention the use of antlers in home decoration, and then talk of expectoration. Sheer, unadulterated genius.

DS eats 4-6 eggs every day. He is a true MN son - a 6 foot, slim medical student. So adds up to the same. He's fine, digestive wise.

If he's on one of those

"My body is a temple". Diets it can push your buttons. 😂
