I’m staying in a Travelodge, guess how many rooms have dogs booked in?

45 apparently šŸ«£šŸ˜‚. Some rooms have several dogs. I fear I should have brought earplugs.

That's ridiculous. I'd be off to a different, dog free hotel.

CapitanSandy · 07/05/2026 19:38

I would hate that. Is there a dog based event happening nearby?

TheCurious0range · 07/05/2026 19:38

I bet that reeks

Lovely - doggies are the best! Enjoy meeting them.

ElixirOfLife · 07/05/2026 19:40

What the hell are they thinking? And who are all these doggy people booking in!

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 07/05/2026 19:41

The last Travelodge I stayed in a few dogs would have improved the smell and ambience.

ElixirOfLife · 07/05/2026 19:48

I didn’t know dogs could stay at travel lodges. Although I haven’t stepped foot in one since I was booked into the city centre Birmingham travel lodge for a work event. My bed had stained sheets and one curtain was missing so it didn’t cover the window. It was absolutely minging and I have never been to one since.

MaybeItWasMe · 07/05/2026 19:49

FionnulaTheCooler · 07/05/2026 19:50

I didn't know Travelodge allowed dogs. I'll be sticking to Premier Inn.

EmpressaurusKitty · 07/05/2026 19:53

Given Travelodge’s record on letting men into rooms occupied by sleeping women, I think that if I was staying there I’d want a dog too.

LikelyLacking · 07/05/2026 19:54

Ewww - I would not want to stay in a hotel that lets dogs in. Ffs, it’s just becoming ridiculous now.

MoveOnTheCards · 07/05/2026 19:54

I was thinking the same @EmpressaurusKitty

vodkaredbullgirl · 07/05/2026 19:55

šŸ¤” Yeah ok

OrdinaryGirl · 07/05/2026 19:56

Never encounter a cat-filled hotel though. MORE’S THE PITY 😤

oldmothers · 07/05/2026 19:57

I'd check out and tell them why. Dogs everywhere is getting absolutely ridiculous. There were two in my nail bar last week on extendable leads, they've lost my business.

I've just been in my hairdressers today and had to step over a dog more than once. Why? I hate it. £180 quid to sit next to a dog.

I'd tell them.

YeOldeGreyhound · 07/05/2026 20:07

Earplugs are a must in any hotel anyway.
Drunken people chatting and giggling in the corridors at 4am. All the shagging going on.
Dogs are lovely in comparison. You are not meant to leave them alone in hotel rooms anyway, so there is no reason they would be barking if their owners were there too.

oldmothers · 07/05/2026 20:05

I'd tell them.

I don't think they would do anything. There are bowls of water and 'doggy treats' in the lobby.

BippityBopper · 07/05/2026 20:09

I also didn't know Travelodge allowed dogs. I think websites need to make it very clear if they are dog friendly. It's completely reasonable for people to assume dogs are not allowed in such places, unless they advertise it.

Did it not show up as an option when booking the room? I've seen that when going to book a hotel. Didn't realise they were dog friendly until there was a drip down box about pets. I was thankful I spotted it and booked elsewhere.

Edited

I stayed there a few years ago. It was indeed minging.

As I left, the guy in "reception" started shouting at me "leave a review, leave a review!" and then "make sure it's a 10 otherwise it will count as negative. Leave a 10 review! Leave a 10!".
I did not leave a review 10 or otherwise.

My dog wouldn’t be happy 🤣
