I’m staying in a Travelodge, guess how many rooms have dogs booked in?

45 apparently 🫣😂. Some rooms have several dogs. I fear I should have brought earplugs.

I thought they only had certain number of rooms that could be allocated to dogs and gave a deeper clean hence the £20.

If I stay in a hotel room that allows dogs, why is the onus on me to be concerned about the next occupant? That is some really strange logic.

Travel Lodge allows dogs. Plenty of other hotels do not.

I think if I knew that information and felt the need to take a dog with me, I would book alternative accommodation

Missed this….did you think I’m making it up? Several people have even correctly guessed which travelodge. I’m not making it up.

Last time I stayed in a Travelodge they had bedbugs. I’d definitely prefer to stay in a hotel with dogs than those.

You shouldn't have to Google whether a hotel is dog friendly in the same way you shouldn't have to Google whether you are allowed to smoke in a hotel room. No should be the default and most obvious answer but, alas, here we are.

I’m glad to hear it. I don’t think I’m wrong though to say that more shops and cafes now allow dogs than used to.

I'm taking my dog to a hotel for the first time this weekend. Apparently she can go anywhere, I'm assuming that doesn't mean the swimming pool though.

You are definitely not wrong. There has been a big increase in shops and cafes allowing this.

Travelodge have allowed dogs for decades. I stayed in one with my bulldog about 30 yrs ago . I bet he was a lot cleaner than a lot of their guests .

Haha, I think you’re just around the corner from me OP! My parents stayed there this time last year and loved meeting all the dogs in the car park in the morning ahead of attending the show. They weren’t kept awake overnight but it was quite loud from about 6am as they all headed out for a pee-break.

It is not rude to suggest someone does research. I had to, to see what places were dog friendly.
How is it rude to suggest someone does the same when they want to find somewhere that does not allow dogs?

True, to match the big increase in dog ownership. But that shouldn’t mean that the needs of people with allergies are now overlooked or become unimportant just because the market dictates there’s money to be made.

Travelodge have always allowed dogs. It’s why we stay there! Premier Inn don’t, which is why we don’t….maybe stay there instead?

Travelodge is one big chain that allows dogs. There are countless others that do not allow them.
I do not think people who hate dogs, or are allergic, are being hard done by.

This is why I never stay there. Thank god premier inn have stayed sensible.

And as a PP said afaik there are allocated rooms for dog owners and an additional fee for the cleaning.

I stayed at a Hilton that was next to a major dog show. There were dogs everywhere. I loved it.

I’ll be up at 6am and in the car park. It’s terrier day tomorrow so lots of terriers here tonight. Judging got delayed today because of all the traffic delays getting to the showground so I’m hoping as I don’t have far to go I’ll be ok. Some people I know are doing the 2 plus hour drive tomorrow morning 🙈. My nerves would be frazzled.
