I’m staying in a Travelodge, guess how many rooms have dogs booked in?

45 apparently šŸ«£šŸ˜‚. Some rooms have several dogs. I fear I should have brought earplugs.

Given the safety concerns I do not blame one single person for taking their dog.

I used to frequently do an overnight travelodge stay, go visit a new place and not worry about getting back the same day but all the safety concerns and the prices, I just can’t do it to myself.

I’d feel better about staying if them doggos were barking when hearing people in the corridoor esp late at night, yes I would take advantage of the free protection šŸ˜‚

You are totally misunderstanding things. I have to Google to find dog friendly places. Others will have to Google and use their initiative to find places that do not allow dogs.
By the way, I am autistic and don't have the amount of friends I would like. I also do not have a dog.
Can you please explain how you came to your conclusion about how people "hate" me based on my posts on this thread, Thanks.

MummyMaryUK · 07/05/2026 21:31

Not a hotel chain I would consider using.
Their lack of in-hotel security would mean I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
The dogs would be the last thing I worried about when it comes to Travelodge hotels.

ignore and pay no mind to that horrible person telling you people hate you.

suspect they might be projecting about how unlikeable they are. You haven’t done anything wrong

Fleas everywhere!

Responsible dog owners take measures against fleas.
As a human, what measures are you taking about lice and bed bugs?

Given Travelodge’s record on letting men into rooms occupied by sleeping women, I think that if I was staying there I’d want a dog too.

Edited

Just what I was thinking! A bloody big one!

Thank you. I have suspected at much. From my time on here, it seems the more vitriolic dog haters seem to have a problem with dog owners too.

Never encounter a cat-filled hotel though. MORE’S THE PITY 😤

I have! Stayed in a small hotel for my dad's 60th which came with gorgeous complimentary cats.

I also didn't know Travelodge allowed dogs. I think websites need to make it very clear if they are dog friendly. It's completely reasonable for people to assume dogs are not allowed in such places, unless they advertise it.

Did it not show up as an option when booking the room? I've seen that when going to book a hotel. Didn't realise they were dog friendly until there was a drip down box about pets. I was thankful I spotted it and booked elsewhere.

It was very clear on their website when I was looking to book somewhere last week.

Are you always so unpleasant to people @BippityBopper

PurpleNightingale · 07/05/2026 21:47

So many people being snidey about travelodge. The recent thing with messing up keys is awful yes, but I have stayed in a couple recently and they were spotless and the beds super comfy. I was impressed as I thought they were much improved from the travelodges I stayed in when I was younger.

CrescentMoonLanding · 07/05/2026 21:50

What the actual hell. Another reason never to stay in a Travelodge.

I didn't know Travelodge allowed dogs. I'll be sticking to Premier Inn.

They welcome dogs and cats

I am sure you have toons of options hotel-wise when it comes to finding a dog free hotel.

I suppose the dogs will come in handy when the staff start handing out the occupied room keycards to random drunk blokes asking for them. Of

Bryonny84 · 07/05/2026 21:57

Lots of fancy (ish) hotels allow dogs, not just the budget ones and ones near dog shows. We've taken our dog to Linden Hall and Slaley Hall several times. The Holiday Inn at Lichfield also loves dogs. As for Travel Lodge, my dog would rather sleep in a tent or the car 😁

If you really don't want to stay at a dog friendly hotel and you're not sure then just phone them and check. Surely that's not a problem.

When we used to show dogs, Travelodge was our go to hotel. All the exhibitors used them, yes they were a bit more manky than Premier Inn.

I’ve seen a massive rat outside my window in broad daylight. Release the terriers I say.

My grandad had a JRT that was a prolific rat hunter.
