I’m staying in a Travelodge, guess how many rooms have dogs booked in?

45 apparently 🫣😂. Some rooms have several dogs. I fear I should have brought earplugs.

Who’s complaining?

The room I checked into was a tiny basement room into a courtyard ( old Georgian tenement) where the window could be opened from the outside about 25 cm, so effectively someone outside could tousle my hair as I slept in bed! Lovely! The only thing stopping it opening fully was a nail hammered thoughtfully into the window frame. I was in there for 20 minutes before leaving to check in elsewhere. It wasn’t safe for a female. As I tried to leave, the front door was jammed shut and had to be prised open by 3 blokes. Never again.

Yes. Not 100% sure where the holds up, think just the main road that the showground is on?

Sounds like the same one I stayed in in Birmingham pr12 years ago, I too have never stayed in one again and never will!

That would drive me mad however I would NEVER stay in a travelodge as local councils use them as half way houses, often to people who need various support and there is none there and they roam corridors shouting and arguing with other guests

plus I’ve only ever booked one once and the bedding and towels were old and grotty and the room was filthy

it was near an airport but we found another alternative and I made them refund my card there and then and I incurred extra cost of a more expensive hotel and parking as it was previously a deal and after sending head office photos of the cesspit they marketed as a hotel they refunded me the difference it was vile and an experience not to be repeated!

Bloody hell - I hope they are better behaved than my wee fella. We took him in a dog cabin in an oversea ferry and he barked all flaming night.

Guard dog? Sod that, I'd want a gun! The last time (also the first and definitely the only time) I stayed in one, for work, there was a (fortunately not fatal) stabbing in the foyer!

Travelodge UK is notably dog and cat friendly - I think they're the only major UK chain that allows pets in every room in every property although others (Best Western, Ibis, Holiday Inn) selectively allow it. Obviously one to avoid if you have allergies or other reasons you wouldn't want to be around dogs! In terms of similar levels of comfort/price and a standard you can count on UK-wide, your best bet to avoid dogs is probably Premier Inn or Courtyard by Marriott, although I believe both do allow service dogs.

Last time I stayed in a Travelodge the charge for our two dogs was more than the cost of the room.

Nice little money spinner for them though, I'm fairly sure they didn't do £40 worth of additional cleaning.

Yeah, it's £25 per pet now (any kind that's allowed) - it can add up!

Hotels like this should have a kennels section attached where people can leave their dogs for the night whilst keeping the hotel rooms for humans only.

Is that per night?
I took my dog on holidays with Haven/Hoseasons/Park Dean, and it was that much per stay, which was usually 3 or 4 nights.

Travelodge allows a maximum of two pets (dogs or cats) per room. This policy applies to most UK hotels, with a charge of roughly £25 per pet, per stay
