I’m staying in a Travelodge, guess how many rooms have dogs booked in?

45 apparently šŸ«£šŸ˜‚. Some rooms have several dogs. I fear I should have brought earplugs.

Have you met any of them and given ear scratches? I love dogs! I’d be absolutely thrilled to meet a few wagging tales in the hotel

That is crazy!

I call BS. Especially the reference to some rooms containing several dogs. I’ve no doubt there might be some rooms with dogs, but come on……Are you sure you haven’t drank a few too many gins, and walked into the local RSPCA instead? Sounds more likely….

Yes, it’s the National dog show this weekend. We are entered for tomorrow. You have to pay an extra Ā£20 for a dog. Receptionist said lots of people try and smuggle dogs in without paying extra but they’re on to them. šŸ˜†

I'm guessing the old 'hind legs, overcoat, trilby, and shades' look?

Wheeled show crates with covers over apparently. šŸ˜‚

Lots of dogs because of a local event is no different to lots of teens in anime costumes because of a nearby comic con šŸ˜„

There’s a massive dog show a few miles up the road, thousands of dogs entered. It’s not unusual for someone who takes showing seriously to have multiple dogs.

Is this in Kenilworth? (I'll see myself out.)

Ok, so I am a fake now?
This place gets worse.

I was not actually rude anyway.

Sheggsie · 07/05/2026 22:46

I always book a travel lodge when the dog needs a bath. He’s a big boy, so much cheaper than groomer. No scratches on my bath and use the hotel towels.

Hoanna · 07/05/2026 22:55

I worked in a Travelodge before and they do allow dogs. But I am glad I left after I heard about their scandals

A quick google indicates a maximum two dog per room policy. So unless there’s some backhanders to reception staff, I doubt there’s several dogs in any of the rooms.

Thank you. My second ever show. First was last weekend. Go big or go home šŸ˜†

Good luck OP!! Norwich Terrier by any chance? We're showing there too but local enough to drive! Where were the traffic holdups if you don't mind me asking?! Might have to leave earlier!

Blodyneighbour · 07/05/2026 23:02

So you book in to a cheap "hotel" then complain about dogs?

Sorry to disappoint but I'm no longer engaging. Good luck to you though.

Pistachiocake · 07/05/2026 23:11

Better than a lot of people. It'll probably be safer, too (fewer break-ins/harassment). But can you imagine if they have kids with them too? The whining! Kids and dogs! But it'll only be adults whining about it.

Flintstonerubble · 07/05/2026 23:14

45 dogs? Are you sure you’ve not booked yourself into the local kennels by mistake??

Not true. The £20 charge covers you for two dogs. If you pay more you can have more dogs.
