A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Sorry, not working for me either. Podcast covers much of the same ground and has no paywall.

Just saw more of it. Honestly why, how. For the bollard no less.

I don't look or follow threads like that. I haven't in the past. If I pick up on a poster elbowing in anywhere with this mindset I ignore.

Doesn't wind me up. Maybe living in Wales where there's a mindset of families having voted labour proudly for over a century has innured me. 🤷‍♀️

He's like the red queen. Off with his head. Lewis Carroll.

I think he thinks it shows him to be decisive and ahem, masterful.

WaffleBomb · 23/04/2026 17:51

A house nearby has had a huge wooden VOTE LABOUR board in their front garden for a couple of weeks. They always have Labour paraphernalia outside when there's an election. Not unusual where I live as it's been Labour forever.

The board was there this morning when I went to work. Drove by tonight on my way home, and its been removed! 😁

Damn, it doesn't work in the same way as archive.ph. Removepaywalls.com is the one I'm using today after the archive site went down - again.

@Pacificsunshine

Crikey, that Tim Shipman piece is something else!

I wonder which former cabinet minister is quoted here?

A former Labour cabinet minister says: ‘The public are allergic to Starmer and the party cannot stand him. He has no friend in politics apart from [the attorney general Richard] Hermer. He trusts no one. He has not a single real supporter in the cabinet. The civil service loathes him and the military are contemptuous. The media have seen right through him. Starmer is now thoroughly paranoid. He is terrified of the Rayner-Burnham threat to him. But Labour MPs cannot yet gather round an alternative.’

Also like this quote:

Another Westminster veteran says: ‘I hope this will finally kill the absurd “Keir Starmer is a decent man” narrative. He’s a shitweasel whose sole political talent is blaming others for his own failings.’

Loving 'shitweasel' as an insult. 🤣

Haha that’s brilliant and so true.

I just read it again it’s bloody brilliant. The pacing and terminology.

WaffleBomb · 23/04/2026 20:00

The story in the DT about Lord Hermer being actively involved in trying to prosecute innocent British troops is really shocking. He shouldn't be anywhere near government after what he's done.

What was Starmer thinking making Hermer a Lord so he could be his attorney general ffs.

The telegraph has broken some excellent stories in the last 18 months - the Hermer stuff is appalling.

i see Cat Little isn’t having any of it on OR’s sacking. Good for her.

Pacificsunshine · 23/04/2026 21:09

Hermer is indefensible. I feel those veterans are owed serious recompense and apology.

Very. I'm not surprised that the civil service are steaming. I'd be nervous if I was a labour MP.
