It's equally possible that she had other seizures , wasn't honest with her insurers or even medics, that people around her know but she has used expensive lawyers to ensure no one can prove anything in court.

It's less likely but possible (and I say this as someone who has absolutely zero trust in the police) that the police have been bribed to ignore certain information they have received.

I don't think it's that. I think the inquiry is because of the way the (ethnic minority) victims' families were treated in comparison to the white driver.

begonefoulclutter · 14/04/2026 16:16

It was the top item on the radio news I heard on the way to work this morning.

OctopusFriend · 14/04/2026 16:17

Lawyers cannot "cover anything up".
They act on behalf of a client.
This story has been all over the news.

tipsyraven · 14/04/2026 16:21

What are you talking about? It has been all over the news in the past 24 hours.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 14/04/2026 16:24

Well, 11 police officers are being investigated for gross misconduct relating to this case so it is definitely not all that it seems. I feel so sad for the families of the girls - that bloke in Liverpool who didn't actually kill anyone got far more coverage.

Yes, but I think that will be to do with the way it was handled, and the way the families were treated, not the decision not to prosecute.

lovealieinortwo · 14/04/2026 16:27

There’s a lot of discussion about this primarily how shit the investigation has been & the treatment of the victims families.

It is shocking

LizzieSiddal · 14/04/2026 16:30

It’s 11 police offers who are under investigation, not lawyers!

The police are being accused of racism, I can well believe it and am very pleased these poor parents are having another go at getting justice for their little girls.

lovealieinortwo · 14/04/2026 16:31

But yes, also rich and well connected and very good lawyers.

Which is generally more important than the truth.

The information which is used to decide if there will be a prosecution, is put together by the police. So that decision could well be under review if all the actual evidence was not put forward initially.

lovealieinortwo · 14/04/2026 16:36

It will be interesting if we see more seizures claims after RTAs.

Sallycinnamum · 14/04/2026 16:49

There was a Reddit thread on this last year that got zapped. The general gist was the driver has a very wealthy family who essentially have any mention of her wiped online.

HeddaGarbled · 14/04/2026 16:50

Outrage fatigue

TeenLifeMum · 14/04/2026 16:52

When someone is arrested there are very strict reporting rules in place to ensure a fair trial. Today’s news about the 11 officers mentions she was re arrested in 2025… what more attention did you want for the story?

Speculation could jeopardise a fair trial so it was likely zapped for good reason.

RoniaCheetah · 14/04/2026 16:54

I do so love when people start a thread to ask why something isn't getting more news coverage, by linking to one of the most read news sites in the country. 😂. And then allege that what's being reported is being covered up.

Hint OP: if you're reading about it in the Daily Mail, it's not being covered up.

TheAutumnCrow · 14/04/2026 16:56

It's been all over the news today! My DP asked me when I woke up this morning if I'd seen it yet. Then we talked about it, including the possible racism / connections angles.

It's a pretty big story.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 14/04/2026 16:59

I've always been uneasy about the outcome of the initial police investigation.

In fairness he did it on purpose and hurt an awful lot of people at a very public event.

LlynTegid · 14/04/2026 17:10

I support this investigation of the police not taking these deaths seriously enough.

I also think that there needs to be an end to large vehicles being driven on a standard car licence. No one needs a Range Rover or similar in Wimbledon.

GingerBeverage · 14/04/2026 17:15

Some SUVs are pushing 3 tonnes now.
Since the law allows for drivers with managed epilepsy, perhaps the law could limit the weight of the vehicles they drive? Just a thought, as I expect they aren’t allowed to drive heavy goods vehicles (or are they?)

lovealieinortwo · 14/04/2026 17:16

@GingerBeverage thats a fair suggestion.
