I felt humiliated today

At work today my manager brought us some treats in for Easter, I had a biscuit and was eating it on the shop floor, she actually told me off I felt like a naughty school girl, she told me to hide it, I felt so humiliated, this isn’t the first time she’s done things like this, is she bullying me?

i got given a mince pie once but we had to eat it in the break room or hide the sandwiches behind the counter if we covered the shop on a sunday

OP as gently as possible, you broke the "not eating on the shop floor" rule you knew was in place. Customers will sometimes break the rules but thats because they are not being professional or just haven't paid attention to the signage that you are fully aware of (and you can always remind them of the rule). You have to set the example, if customers spot the staff eating they will obviously believe the sign is meaningless and if another member of staff asks a customer to finish their burger outside that customer can turn around and use you an example of staff eating in the shop so why can't they.

Your manager has praised you for your work, not having banter with you is not bullying, nor is asking you to adhere to store policy. I can't see any other evidence in your replies of her bullying you.

I've been in a situation where a really unpleasant (bitchy/bullying) supervisor took a dislike to me. Everyone had some experience of that side of her, but she would be smarmy and nice to them in between whereas I got 100% horror show bullying. I was also a very good employee and well liked by colleagues. I very much doubt you are imagining it OP and there really is no way out because bullying like this is so very hard to deal with in the workplace. I would encourage you to leave if you can find another job (and definitely drop her right in it at your exit interiew).

What else do you suggest? Go to HR and complain about her telling you off for eating a biscuit? I can't imagine they'll be very sympathetic.

when its a manager its also hard to pin point the examples because its like back handed comments etc but can be explained one way or another
