I never thought this could happen to me

I have developed a taste for Smith’s Scampi Fries. The pub snack of yesteryear. Haven’t had them for about twenty years until this week, now I’ve had three packets in two days.

Just opened a packet and they looked more ‘dusty’ than usual, lots of the flavour dust all over the inside of the packet. A nice bonus.

Then I take one from the packet and lift it to my lips…only it’s not a rectangular fake scampi and lemon flavoured snack. It was a nugget of purest flavouring! Whole block of scampi and lemon dust! I wasn’t sure whether to eat it or auction it on eBay but curiosity got the better of me and I ate it. I’m not sure my mouth will ever recover, having been stripped of all tastebuds.

You read about such things but never expect them to happen in real life. Next I will get a solid chocolate kitkat.

don’t hold your hopes out on that kitkat. Did you not see someone has stolen 12T of them 😂

I’ve been known to add a little extra salt to a bag of scampi fries if they’re low on their factory-applied wonder dust.

Only yesterday I fancied a Lidl kit kat dupe and lo!
one finger normal and the second solid chocolate. Never had anything like that before, though to be fair I rarely eat chocolate.
I was blessed!

Wow I didn’t know this was a thing. In our house we always wanted the folded
over potato chip (crisps) I always note the ratio of red and orange candy DOTS (😊) to green and yellow ☹️. And always find a double yolk egg a fun surprise a little gift from Mother Nature. Now a baddie is a loaf of baked bread with a huge air pocket
in it!

Reminds me of one time years ago when my then primary aged daughter was having her breakfast before school. I gave her the glass of squash I'd made her, she took a drink, paused, and very politely said "....that tastes a bit stronger than normal mammy?"

Half asleep me had given her a glass full of undiluted squash. Not a drop of water in sight.

I don't wish to show off well maybe a little, I once picked up 2 4 packs of kitkat chunky once in Sainsburys (so obviously the same batch). and EVERY SINGLE ONE...all EIGHT were solid it was a bit annoying by the 8th tbh

I wrote to the good people at KitKat HQ and got 32 bars as a sorry. I've dined on this story for years so I feel like I owe them some KitKats back

I love this thread! It’s bacon fries for me - although I now have to have at least 4 gaviscons after each pack - the indigestion is real, but worth it!! 😂😂

If you go to " company shop" and get the bags of reject kitkats quite a few are solid chocolate usually half sticks but solid still
