So would anyone with an ounce of decency and humanity.

Agreed, it was disgraceful and very upsetting to have such a horrific arson attack take place. The level of anti-Semitism is definitely very disturbing.

That was just to answer @RelativisticJet ’s somewhat goady question about whether the Government would do so. Of course they would, and immediately.

Notonthestairs · 23/03/2026 08:05

Sir Keir Starmer said: “This is a deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack. My thoughts are with the Jewish community who are waking up this morning to this horrific news. Antisemitism has no place in our society. Anyone with any information must come forward to the police.”

Alexandra2001 · 23/03/2026 08:10

Yes awful attack.

But expect more outrages like this across the globe as the economic hit from the USA/Israeli attacks on Iran start to bite.

RelativisticJet · 23/03/2026 08:11

Llttledrummergirl · 23/03/2026 07:53

Odfod.

Trying to accuse people on this thread of being anti semitic because of what?

That's a new low.

Who did that?

Piggywaspushed · 23/03/2026 08:14

I suspect RJ wanted to be first in to talk about the attack so that they could claim we had not mentioned it. Hence posting at such an early hour.

ETA - we were discussing anti semitism already on this thread at the weekend.

Piggywaspushed · 23/03/2026 08:16

Am I allowed to discuss Hillsborough though?

Just checking.

Am I allowed to discuss Hillsborough though?

Just checking.

Very much so.

The delays are outrageous, given Starmer had promised to pass the legislation by 15 April 2025, to mark the 36th anniversary of the disaster.

Piggywaspushed · 23/03/2026 08:25

If you want to discuss the journey to there, of course, we need to go all the way back to Thatcher.

Piggywaspushed · 23/03/2026 08:27

BTW, is this the only thread you have posted on about the ambulance attacks this morning? Interesting.

RelativisticJet · 23/03/2026 08:30

This is a very active thread, with knowledgable posters.

It’s the ‘go to’ political thread IMHO.

It’s the only thread they ever post on with that user name. I wonder why?

The International Energy Agency has announced that this energy crisis caused by Trump and Netanyahu’s war is worse than the 1970s oil crisis and the one following Russia's invasion of Ukraine combined.

Record-breaking work for all involved.

Fuck them and their supporters

There is a very simple question as to why "the West" collectively did not learn from the 1970s oil crisis ? This is very much a "Fool us twice" situation.

The far right has left the UK stranded economically and strategically with the successful (only just) power push towards Brexit. The only option now is to get back to the EU, via Customs Union and the single market. That way a certain amount of security is in place, economically and strategically.

And those who oppose net zero policies can get in the bin.

Given that 19 minutes of the call was probably Trump rambling insanely, that is a pretty good brief!

😄🤭

Easter is the biggest celebration in the Christian calendar. Jenrick is an idiot.

countrygirl99 · 23/03/2026 10:10

Yep if you took out all the rambling there's probably 3 minutes to report on.

If Kemi Badenoch thinks drilling the North Sea is the answer to the energy crisis that really should be disqualifying. If she understands it’s more complex than that, then why is she peddling such transparent bullshit to voters? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/03/21/drilling-north-sea-answer-energy-crisis/

There is probably a joke in there about riding an ass into town.

I take it Jenrick is one of these "new" Christians they have these days in that there London. Where what you know doesn't matter, what you believe is irrelevant as long as you feel it (in the "right" way = literally)

I have yet to meet a Christian who is embarrassed they don't know the Bible chapter and verse. But I know a few atheists who are 😀

DuncinToffee · 23/03/2026 10:18

I remember from primary school that we baked bread in the shape of a rooster (with a current as eye) and put it on a stick for the Palm Sunday celebrations.

Never knew why until much later Smile

PandoraSocks · 23/03/2026 10:30

I wonder if Jenrick will regret defecting when the Tory leadership comes up for grabs in a few weeks/months?
