Just a few weeks ago, Trump was singing Starmers praises, Chagos was a good deal, Macron was an idiot, Mertz was too reliant on Russian gas...

Now we have the reverse, the guy is not functioning correctly.

Give it 24hrs and he'll probably change his mind again. It's like listening to a 2yr old.

BIossomtoes · 03/03/2026 19:00

I’m astonished Trump wants our support given that he thinks our troops are useless.

I have rarely been as proud to be British as when Trump insults the UK.

It means we're doing something right.

LlttledrummergirI · 03/03/2026 19:53

Trump saying he's not very happy with the British, I've got news for him- the British people are hoping their pm tells him to fuck right off because they aren't particularly liking him either.

LittleBowSheep · 03/03/2026 20:02

I'm loving seeing so many people backing Starmer on this one. Especially those who don't like him/Labour but have the intelligence to be able to put their personal thoughts to one side.

Obviously there are some who just don’t have the nous to do that. Badenoch, for example. She really has fucked up and not read the room properly. This is definitely the time for all parties to stand together. Farage's stance comes as no surprise, he's just a total arse.

He has dementia.

Yes. My faith in humanity has been slightly restored tonight. I hope that Starmer doesn't capitulate to Trump.

I agree. Starmer has been fantastic. Are you listening Chris Mason? 🤔

He has dementia.

He was telling Mertz that his dad was born in Germany. No it was the Bronx, his grandfather left Germany to dodge draft.

Unfair to two year olds.

Badenoch is adversarial for sake of it. She the oppositions role is to oppose everything regardless of nuance, or effect for the country

Something has definitely clicked somewhere

It has. And it’s blowing certain people’s minds.

cardibach · 03/03/2026 21:44

Trump is getting more and more ranty about it. This is Starmer’s Hugh Grant moment, isn’t it?

Yes! PMQs will very interesting tomorrow. Will she use Trump's insults or think of some puerile ones of her own?

She won’t get far. It appears majority of opinion inside and outside the Commons is behind Starmer.

That won't stop her from insults.

I think she’s on here preparing her lines to take tonight!

I seriously hope that Starmer has got his staff gathering the evidence of things she's said recently which contradict her current stance in preparation for PMQs tomorrow. Didn't she accuse him of being a war-monger or something similar not so long ago?

Maybe he should stand up and issue a reply to a question from the archives under the guise of correcting the parliamentary record.

SerendipityJane · 04/03/2026 09:34

Inspired by this thread I dropped my MP a note expressing my support for the stance of not licking US butt.

Lalgarh · 04/03/2026 09:48

The US deliberately has no plan beyond bombing and no interest in the inevitable consequences of sectarian violence and humanitarian crisis. It’s a deliberate choice not to have a plan because it’s not in their interest.

Pete Hegseth said as much in that blunt press conference he did on Monday. "No nation building". In and out. They reckon.
