Just that. Interested to see if anyone says what I'm thinking...

Really? The entire cape?

We had the worst holiday of our life in Cape Cod. We. nicknamed it Cape Con.

Always think it's the people you're with, not the place.

On this basis, the Lake District

Brussels.

Noooo! I loved it so so much. Went twice in three months. 😂

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 25/01/2026 20:53

Ha! I was going to say that!

I think that depends what you like doing and where you go. If you like surfing it’s definitely not boring!

Pretty can be boring. Museum can be interesting but dead boring…

why is that so shocking to people?

Huh? Isn't interesting pretty much the exact opposite of boring???

Itsanewnameeveryday · 25/01/2026 21:13

I found Seoul a boring, ate several OK noodle dinners at a reasonable price but other than that there were just lot of shops.
I also found Stratford Upon Avon a bit of a letdown, thought it would be beautiful but was a bit sad and rundown.

Mont St Michel

Awww, dont say that. I went as small child and was absolutely entranced by it. I've always wanted to go back. But also rather afraid it will be overrun by tourists and a big disappointment.

WanderingWellies · 25/01/2026 21:14

Mount Isa

I mean if you don't like museums, interesting architecture, quirky pubs, very old puppet theatres then yes, I suppose you would find Brussels boring, but the same would go for any big city with interesting architecture and museums.
Where DO you find interesting?

I don’t find any of those types of things remotely interesting either! Interesting to me is the landscape of Northern Scandinavia, or Alaska, the landscape of areas of the US are breathtaking. Architecture to me is no more interesting than a Lego set.

catsarenumber1 · 25/01/2026 21:16

Disneyland Paris. What a waste of time, I've never queued so long to go on such short rides. Cheaper and better to go to the local funfair.

loislovesstewie · 25/01/2026 21:17

Wales. All of it. I'm prepared for the bollocking now.

Burnley (though not a holiday destination). I felt an unbelievable gloom there that didn't lift until I drove away from the place. The family friends we met there took us for a meal at a kind of department store - the kind where the mannequins have lost limbs and the clothes are the kind your nan has stored in the attic. I'm sure there must be something going for it, but I couldn't see what!

We went there for a niter again years ago ,walking back to the station at 8am Sunday morning we thought it was derelict.

Calling · 25/01/2026 21:24

Bracknell

stickybear · 25/01/2026 21:29

Such an interesting thread! I loved Berlin, Florence, Rome, and the Alhambra, and have a soft spot for Brussels. Agree that Milan was a bit dull (the cathedral was covered in scaffolding when I visited), and would add Luxembourg and Perth (the Australian one) to the list. I imagine both are lovely places to live, but not the most interesting to visit.

Southwold - haven’t RTFT has anyone else already said it?

DH’s partners spend 6 weeks in Southwold every summer . They stay in the same holiday let and do the same things. For 6 weeks. Every year. Gaaaaaah.

Iceland…very underwhelming unfortunately

WTF?! I don’t know what you did wrong but Iceland could never be underwhelming 🤣

or do you mean the supermarket…

piscofrisco · 25/01/2026 21:32

Parents! Not his partners! That would make it more fun!

plsdontlookatme · 25/01/2026 21:32

Possibly an unpopular opinion (or not, haven't RTFT) but Cornwall is one of my least favourite places

AgnesMcDoo · 25/01/2026 21:33

Cape Verde was a bit dull

starrylightts · 25/01/2026 21:36

Cattenberg · 25/01/2026 20:10

I found Reykjavik a bit underwhelming, but I thought the landscapes of Iceland were spectacular!

Yes! Jokulsarlon

Yoyokitten · 25/01/2026 21:40

Benidorm, awful awful place !!

Lemonyyy · 25/01/2026 21:41

Norwich. Went to visit a friend, fuck me was it depressing.

Terraz · 25/01/2026 21:42

Isle of Wight. Such a boring shithole

illsendansostotheworld · 25/01/2026 21:50

Townsville in Australia- couldn't wait to get out

Edited

I dunno. I did the blue lagoon. Geysers, northern lights tour, national park, waterfalls, Reykjavik etc. I just didn’t find it as amazing as I thought it would be. Oh well…no harm.
