Why would immigrants remain in a country they don't like?

Work. Life.

Rhyl.
Aberystwyth (unfortunately, would love Aber to be revitalised as its got such potential)

You know what, we all like different things so I do see why people wouldn't be into Rome, Tenerife, Lisbon etc, but to not find the Natural History Museum interesting... sorry gang, the idea of not getting excited over dinosaur bones or standing next to a stuffed bear to see how big they are, i just dont believe you sorry 😄 (lighthearted, I do get it!!)

We went to Cardigan Bay last year and I was surprised by how little there was to do/see. So many caravan parks though. We do self catering holidays several times a year with our dogs and Cardigan Bay was probably the most "boring" place we have been to. But we still had a lovely time. Boring isn't always bad!

fouroclockrock · 25/01/2026 15:33

Windsor and Tewkesbury.

Burgess Hill. Deathly boring place, the best bit is the series of roundabouts that lead you to the motorway.

Who on earth is going on holiday to burgess hill??

biedrona · 25/01/2026 15:35

Malta.

Because people complain everywhere they go. Any immigrants that I know that live in the U.K complain about the shit weather, and how expensive things are

Shitzerland is quite insulting compared to complaints about the weather. Anyway, enough of my derailing.

Natural history museum. Cannot understand why people rave about it.

Victoria and Albert museum, convinced myself I myself had had it wrong and went back, was told it’s huge, didn’t find it huge and neither did I find it that interesting apart from the jewels.

ChristmasCwtch · 25/01/2026 15:36

I love so many places on this thread! Berlin, Budapest, St Lucia, Rome were all amazing.

Most boring place I go is my kids’ swimming lessons every week. Mind numbing 😂

sunflower85 · 25/01/2026 15:36

I had to go for a long awaited rheumatologist appointment in December, I really needed it but bloody hell, I was in the waiting room for so long I was on the brink of just walking out!

I've driven through it when it was open. You didn't miss much.

I had to live there for 4 years due to a job - I agree, you didn't miss much! Awful place 😂

@NuffSaidSam
i am genuinely curious what makes you think Iceland is exciting?

When I went we literally flew over an erupting volcano. I guess it depends what you find exciting, I find amazing wild nature exciting and that's what we went to Iceland for. We saw whales!!! And northern lights!!!!!

Agreed. We went there once, and it must have been so dull I had erased it from my memory. I'd forgotten all about the place until you mentioned it.

Vicliz24 · 25/01/2026 15:40

Jacksonville Florida- just homeless people and absolutely nothing to see here. Was stranded there overnight and it was hideous.

Nicecatneighbour · 25/01/2026 15:41

Cape Verde. Not much to do, hotel uncomfortable, and loads of locals hanging about outside and at the beach trying to hustle the tourists.
Couldn't wait to get out of there.

Manathma · 25/01/2026 15:41

Boa Vista, Cape Verde. Beautiful place but it takes a couple of hours to get around the whole island it’s that small. We stayed at an AI resort which was lovely but in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by desert. The beach right outside it always red flag so you can’t swim in it. Other than the hotel pool, and the hotel disco, there wasn’t much to do. Lovely if you want to just sit by the pool in the sun drinking all day but we were there for a week and were bored by day 3. Definitely wouldn’t recommend going with kids as they would definitely be bored.

One man's meat is another's poison!

I can't say I found anywhere I've travelled to boring. I think it depends on age and interests in the end. If you don't like sea sun sand, or history, or museums, or Roman ruins, or hiking up a hill to get fab views, or cities, or quiet countryside, or shopping, or crowds, or fish n chips, or foreign food, or mad nightlife, or late nights, well I think your own back garden is probably best!.

I have to say that the things I loved when younger now fill me with dread. So I have to choose carefully where I go now or it'll be handbags at dawn. 😊

It's quite rare to see the northern lights though isn't it. Ive heard a lot about people trying to see them, and never seeing anything

Noluthando · 25/01/2026 15:43

Fleetwood. The most interesting attraction was a fishing tackle warehouse. I only went to see where the Blackpool tram ended up. Didn't stay long.

I don’t know. Slough is definitely grim but the locals provide a lot of free entertainment 🤣

Rhubarb24 · 25/01/2026 15:44

Vientiane. It's mad that it's a capital. Sihanoukville is pretty boring now too.
