Are there any chefs/cooks that you think would be a good replacement now she has decided to retire? I can’t think of any of the current to chefs who could do it.

John Whaite would be good, or someone like Anna Higham.

Anna Hough is doing Masterchef.
John Whaite got into OnlyFans, although I think he’s stopped.
Nadia has fallen out with the BBC hasn’t she, so Channel 4 would be a good fit.

Nancy Birtwhistle. She was a great contestant and I think she would be fair to everyone.
Books are great too, as are her recipes, they always work.

Jane Asher had a fabulous cake business in Chelsea for years.
Would bring a touch of class back.

I have absolutely no expectation that she'd do it but my vote would be for Nigella.

Back to proper baking. No more beehives made of 15 kg of chocolate, 15 layer pies, 34 layer desserts and pictures made of biscuits flavoured with 99 spices.

I know that I’m probably in a minority and an old bore, but could it focus on the baking skills, not whether the other presenters are funny or really good at spotting obvious innuendo.

When it first moved to C4, there was a good mix of humour and baking, seemingly supporting the bakers as stars of the show, now the bakers seem like supporting cast for the presenters who are just inane; a shame as they are both lovely people.

What changes would you like to see alongside a new presenter?

Nadiya would be brilliant and I think she deserves a break.

Yes that’s mainly why I would like to see a nice natured but serious baker like Rachel Allen or Jane Asher, I know pp said “too po faced” but I would like the emphasis to be back on good old fashioned baking.

That was me, yes I get what you're saying. I cant stand the toppling towering show stoppers that really no one can achieve properly

I also get really annoyed when they're given a task that they cant possibly perform in the timesale due to the need to chill things down.
