A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙 🩵

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Ik you feel that way. I still use this thread to get away from posts such as below.

Yes, I understand. It's one thing to contribute to the thread and happen upon points of disagreement, which of course exists not sharing a hive mind.

And quite another lurking on a thread and only posting to amplify disagreement or demand that posters account for their opinions and then disappearing into smoke again.

Yep I find all posters very amenable even if we don’t agree. I don’t need posts which do that I assume you think this or whatever that is so rife across pro Labour on this site. I’m not engaging with that on this thread.

Moving on. I wonder if there’ll be an announcement from Jenrick today

Upstartled · 15/01/2026 13:05

Interesting to see that Welsh doctors have written an open letter to Welsh politicians to reject Leadbeater's assisted dying scheme. I have my fingers crossed that that will set the cat among the pigeons.

I expect we'll see something. How he frames it will be interesting.

I listened to a politics podcast this morning. (Sam and Anne) They suggested that it is now almost nailed on and expected that the bill will not succeed before the King's speech. They also said that No.10 aren't bothered, and happy to let it slide.

Well that's good to hear. I wonder if that is news to Leadbeater? 😁 Are they denying that a plan was hatched by the party to put this through as a private members bill?

I suspect so.😂
Perhaps we will see it in Labour's next manifesto.

Has Jenrick ever been this quiet for this long!

True. She doesn’t waver and dither like Starmer.

Which is why it's incredulous that's he's asked what took Kemi so long to sack Jenrick! At least she has the strength to sack people, unlike him.

That's interesting. Our AM through a freedom of information action asked how many people in our health board had died in A&E in the last three years. It was over 2.5k. That really shocked me.

Bloody hell, the Greens 🫣 Are the FON participants being hypnotised?

Stupid question alert
When an MP crosses over does that mean reform has more MPs in the house now ?
I'm.thinkimg not because they have not been elected ?

Januaryescape · 15/01/2026 14:47

Each constituency elects the individual, rather than the party, so when an MP crosses the floor the new party acquires a new member.

Labour on 15. Let’s see if it can go to single digit.

God, could you imagine? The government on single figures would be crazy but you couldn't rule it out at this point.

Ikr already 85% don’t back Labour. That’s really something in a democratic system. At 90% not, it’d be bizarre.

EasternStandard · 15/01/2026 15:22

Also just saw ‘sinking ship’ quote from Labour.

Have they not seen how many in the electorate are abandoning them?

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 15/01/2026 15:23

I think that Jenrick wanting to defect to Reform actually shows that Kemi's position in the party is strengthening, and he thought it's would be easier to join Reform, rather than try a leadership challenge.

Januaryescape · 15/01/2026 15:26

Totally agree @ChardonnaysBeastlyCat with that analysis.

peacefulpeach · 15/01/2026 15:30

Ex Labour voters definitely don’t move to Reform according to the Labour supporter dregs .. not what this research shows.. 🙊
