A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙 🩵

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

A conservative Welsh ms has been suspended for talking to reform by the chairman.

Does it seem like he was about to defect? The Welsh tory leader must have taken a leaf out of Kemi's book.

That's the rumour. Who knows.

That application for the logo is by UKIP though, not Reform. I had no idea they even still existed. Not sure the Guardian has done anyone any favours by publicising the fact they still exist.

That’s true. But isn’t ukip reform and vice versa? Really. As ukip is irrelevant now..

TheNuthatch · 21/01/2026 09:06

Good morning.

Inflation has risen from 3.2% to 3.4% in December.
Food inflation has risen from 4.2% to 4.5%.

Reeves - "more to do" Hmm

Just a gentle reminder that we have Reform supporters and members who post regularly on this thread.

I’m quite sure inflation would have gone up by more if the oil price wasn’t down. Petrol is £1.28 a litre near me now.

Reeves has seemed to have her head down, below the parapet a bit recently.

Oh God just wait for one of Starmer’s almost daily “we understand the cost of living is a major concern for people and that’s why we’re committed to tackling it” posts….

It will definitely include the £150 reduction in utility costs - as if that undid the price rises since they can into power and as if that paltry sum were achieved with some political skill and it's not raided from tax payer coffers. Cheers 🙄

TheNuthatch · 21/01/2026 09:20

Yeah Reeves has been very quiet hasn't she.

The UK is still highest in G7 (Japan's most recent figures was 2.9%).
Inflation was at target when Labour took office, yet they are campaigning on the CoL. Hmm

Yes he does mention that a lot, along with freezing rail fares. More to do of course but in his eyes all good.

He seems to be on IG more, I don’t follow of course I try to avoid as much as possible, but unfortunately he seems to be reappearing more. The messaging is so patronisingly bad.

Unfortunately he has a Facebook page too.

ETA not sure why he perseveres with that though, whenever he posts he just gets hundreds of laughing or angry emojis in response.

I suppose it’s the ‘we need to be better at comms’ crowd. It’s mostly anger in return.

Kemi oth is the opposite, I’d be pretty happy with her IG comments. They’re mostly go you’re doing great.

I know. I understand why some peoples are voting for reform. They want change and are afraid for the future because other gvts have failed and are failing us as I type . Where I’m from - nearby is now a reform council. So I understand, many old school friends voted for reform.

I hate Labour, I’ll never vote for them again. Starmer makes me feel sick, as do many of the others. What they’re doing to the Uk is horrendous. And we’ve a few more years yet.

The Conservatives are the only sensible option.

Reform are a far right party when all’s said and done - and we can’t risk them being in power in the uk. That’s what happened in Germany all those years ago. Similar economic and social background. Charismatic leader. We all know this high school history.

Reform need to be shut down before the next GE. It has to come from the Conservative Party. Kemi is doing brilliantly - and I hope that momentum carries on, and gets more influential. Perhaps I’ll join the Conservative Party , like others here have. Despite the endless post I’ll get from it.. still it’d be the only post we get these days.

justasking111 · 21/01/2026 10:23

Kemi is doing great but she's one individual. What are the rest of the team like. She needs good management behind her

At work so need to get on snd stop coming on here but I do feel the big challenge for the Tories (who I am wanting to support) is that because of past mistakes they can’t easily confront Labour…does anyone else feel the same ? Because the question is always “well you didn’t tackle x, y, z and you had 14 years”. So how does Kemi get past this?

I mean I’ve put on a bit of weight recently but that’s just unfair! 😂

No. I’m a northerner though, if that helps.

redange · 21/01/2026 11:04

Kemi Badenoch is likely to lose at least 5 of her best MP's before May These are the most likely: Esther Mcvey, Suella Braverman, Katy Lam. I can't think of anyone else other than Joy Morrissey because if these four 'Woman' MP's go the Consevative Party has only two other decent MP's left Claire Couthino and Andrew Griffith .

Lose them and they become as devoid of ability as the Labour Party.

For your Information UKIP is headed up by Nick Tenconi which to Nigel Farage is like claiming Jeremy Corbyn is a associate of Tony Blair.

Anyway, Reform is not a 'Right' wing Party, it is only designated that way by people like Lisa Nandy because she has no 'intelligent, or cohesive arguments.

Do you mean lose them to Reform? Yeh that’d be tough

Upstartled · 21/01/2026 12:11

Pmqs, Starmer feels like the demonstration of his hypocrisy to deny Chagossians the right to self determination is beyond the pale ...not because that hypocrisy is inaccurate but because highlighting that hypocrisy makes him look like a hypocrite that undermines his authority.
