Just for fun!
One thing that I feel just makes me superior than most is that I am a twin mum. Can’t really explain it except that I feel like superwoman for growing 2 babies myself at once

one thing that will make me think you are cooler than most of if you’re left handed, no idea why, I just know I always wanted to be left handed when I was a kid😂

I'm really good at quickly figuring things out how things work in a different place and finding my way around public transport in new countries and cities and different airports. I've always loved travelling and exploring new places and I've lived in a few different countries so it's a very useful skill!

Chiaseedling · 30/12/2025 07:58

I’m shit hot on grammar and spelling! Can spot a typo at 500 yards! V useful in the workplace - all colleagues in various jobs came to me with their need for a check over their written work. I did used to work in publishing but that ship sailed after having DC and being a SAHM.

PantaloonMad · 30/12/2025 08:00

I once had to have an operation on my neck due to a complication owing to, in evolutionary terms, what were once gills? (On the inside, NOT visible outside 😂) so I like to think I’m some kind of mermaid/fish woman

PonkyPonky · 30/12/2025 08:05

I wear glasses now. It’s everything I ever dreamed of as a kid and I used to get very upset when the optician told me I had perfect eyesight every time!

PonkyPonky · 30/12/2025 08:06

My son thinks he’s the coolest because he was born en caul (in the sack). I told him in some cultures they believe this means you’ll never drown

Chiaseedling · 30/12/2025 08:09

Also I gave birth to clever and talented DC.

Both got straight As at A level, are good at sciences and are creative. One is musical and the other is arty. One got a first at uni the other is in line for a first or 2.1 on a very challenging degree. They can also hold a tune. DW, they have their faults and issues as well, would prefer better MH to the brains but it is what it is - it’s how they were made.

By contrast I’m of very average intelligence (I do have a degree but not a particularly academic one - and it’s a Desmond!) , have no discernible talent (apart from being a grammar nerd), can’t sing, and although I am interested in biology/nutrition etc I failed biology GCSE back in the late 80s!!

DH is academically brainier than me but DCs even surpass him.

Missingducks · 30/12/2025 08:11

Well that's me feeling entirely inadequate and desperate to find something remarkable about me today!

Does being excellent at jumping to conclusions count? (Even if wrong, I get there quickly).

Oh my god I love that so much. My DD often says ‘oh that smells like xxx’ with scents, but that’s another level.

DS is the same. He’s got a very sensitive nose.

13RidgmontRoad · 30/12/2025 08:15

Another twin mum here. Very little about parenting phases me anymore, it’s very much “backwards in high heels” for me.

I can get in and drive any car as though I’ve driven it forever, without stalling, battling to find whatever settings buttons etc.

I had/have hyperlexia and can speed read like I’m bionic. This has been of no benefit as it just made me lazy cos I knew I could read and do all my exams at the last minute. My short term memory is both awesome and rubbish, I taught myself functional Greek in 3 weeks and then forgot it all when I didn’t need it.

Thanks @Interpink. I hadn’t heard of hyperlexia previously.

Had a nervous breakdown earlier this year so had to stop working, but through that I taught myself to make money online and have saved a not insignificant (to me) amount for a round the world trip.
I’m sure I’m not unique in that but I am proud of myself.

Would love to learn more! Am hoping to retire soon and will definitely need a plan B.

I can't raise my eye brows.. my muscles don't work in that area.. so still at the age of 67 l don't have any frown lines.. some people think I've had botox because it makes me look younger than my age.

Me too. Although I can raise my eyebrows, I've never had a wrinkly forehead - and I'm 79 !

I can bend my thumbs inwards until they touch my wrists. I can also bite my big toes.

IWantThisJob · 30/12/2025 08:33

I’ve got a PhD and I had two babies and worked while doing it. I genuinely believe most people wouldn’t have the grit to get through that.

MuchTooTired · 30/12/2025 08:34

I’d say also being a twin mum. I am always late for everything no matter how hard I try but I made two human beings at once who were normal weights for singleton babies 3 weeks ahead of schedule. And I survived toddlerhood with them. Weirdly they’re both lefties too, nobody else in the family either side are.

Applecup · 30/12/2025 08:36

I see words and names in colours. I thought everyone did until I mentioned it once.

Alan Carr??

Haha wrong frontal arrangements for him I think !

DonaldJohnTrump · 30/12/2025 08:36

I make no secret of it, cause everyone nose i am bettier and cooler than everyone else.
In a very bigly way.

PuppiesProzacProsecco · 30/12/2025 08:37

I have what my daughter calls "advert hair". It's always bouncy, swishy, shiny and perfect with literally no work from me.

tinylittlepiggy · 30/12/2025 00:10

Not me directly but somehow raised kids who adore each other.. just heard DD12 and DD16 shout "love you" to each other before shutting their bedroom doors for the night 😍

This beats everything 🥰

I can speak 3 languages fluently.

I have lived in 6 countries.

There are a few lines in a famous song that are about me.

I remember phone numbers and car registrations years later.

Tell us the song!!!

JWD · 30/12/2025 08:41

Everyone who’s reading and can’t find anything ‘cool’…Often, these things aren’t immediately obvious, takes some time to discover.

Here’s mine after thinking crikey, these guys are so cool and I’m so average.

I’m a risk taker

I’ve lived in three countries, arriving on my own with just a suitcase (and landed on my feet)

I know how to use the extreme emotions I feel to fuel progress and creativity instead of letting them knock or derail me.

I’ve overcome anorexia and bulimia by myself (years ago when there was no support for this)

I uplift the people I come across in everyday life, I make people feel better
