Just for fun!
One thing that I feel just makes me superior than most is that I am a twin mum. Can’t really explain it except that I feel like superwoman for growing 2 babies myself at once

one thing that will make me think you are cooler than most of if you’re left handed, no idea why, I just know I always wanted to be left handed when I was a kid😂

OK, now I'm going to need a diagram. Normally, the feet make a 90 degree angle with the legs, right? So sitting on the floor with the legs straightened, the legs are parallel to and in contact with the floor. The feet, at right angles, would point straight up. So you are saying your feet can form a straight line with your legs (like a ballet dancer's en pointe), soles in contact with the floor? And you thought this was not difficult for people?

I just tried it, out of curiosity. I think I could have managed it if I'd snipped the tendons in my lower legs. By stubbonly persisting, I did manage to give myself cramp in my right calf! This thread has certainly taught me to know my limitations 😁

I'm confused about the soles of the feet thing too. I can extend my feet sitting down, but the soles don't touch the floor because I have arches. Does that poster just have totally flat feet?

I have totally flat feet and still can't do it!

No, I think she means the whole foot not just the heel. I didn't realise this was difficult for some people until I read this thread. I'm in my 60s and can now only do this when I'm lying flat not sitting. I've put the loss of ability down to old age not that it was inherently anything special.

Ballet dancers spend years practicing this! It’s not easy even for stretchy people

I’m the baby sleep whisperer. Give me a baby, they’ll be asleep in a couple of minutues

I've just always done it and honestly never given it any thought until I read the pp. A few others have since commented on the weirdness/difficulty so I guess it's unusual. Now I'm old it's only when I'm lying flat on my back in bed that I do it. 👣 Someone mentioned flat feet; if anything I've got really high arches so I don't know if that makes a difference.

I can speak 3 languages fluently.

I have lived in 6 countries.

There are a few lines in a famous song that are about me.

I remember phone numbers and car registrations years later.

The song thing is epically cool. Would love to know the lines!

travailtotravel · 01/01/2026 21:51

In the past 2 years I've lost 5 stone, gained an international wine qualification and become an International wine judge on the side. Next gain will I.think be my independence from H.

I’m really good at knowing what year a film or song came out. If it’s between 1995ish to now.

I’m a twin mum
I can speak Spanish
During my Masters degree I was approached by MI5
When I was 18 I had a brief fling with someone is now mega star famous on the telly all the time -they were only 21 and a nobody civilian then.

Lardychops. I am so intrigued here! Who was the megastar, and what did you study on your Masters to be approached by MI5, please tell! I am dying of curiousity!

My daughter has complete heterochromia (2 completely different coloured eyes) and I think she looks super cool.

She is probably well remembered from school! I had a boy like this with me at school, and whenever we did eye colour graphs, up would go his hand and he would say he had one blue and one brown, and the teacher would put him half a point in each category! See, unforgettable, and i recall his name because of it. (He was a kind lad too!)

I am left handed!

I used to look very cool when I smoked. I was complimented on it. Shame it was such a toxic and obnoxious habit though.

I am always impressed by people who cam click their heels. Like a 1940s Hollywood movie dancer.

Or Dorothy, from The Wizard of Oz

joeninetey · 07/01/2026 22:04

I can kiss my wotsits. Does that count as being cool ?

Oh oh oh oh! I can do this! I never knew it was odd! Im hypermobile and also have very high arches.

So where's the diagram? Assuming a photo is out of the question ...

Marvelftw · 07/01/2026 23:30

I have an insanely good memory and can remember events/things from years and years ago. There are many things I can remember from being a very young child and it kind of scares even me that I can recall that far back

readingisallowed · 07/01/2026 23:42

I'm ambidextrous can write something with both hands at the same time.

Ha ha. Is this still being discussed? I posted it flippantly because I have no cool, special skills. But I do have very high arches as well so can never get my foot completely flat on floor ever. Will see if I can take some photos.

Carriemac · 08/01/2026 08:21

I have twins and a phd, despite not going to uni and not having an undergraduate degree . I have almost never shouted at my kids despite having three under 2 1/2 . And I didn’t allow the kids to shout at each other . I’m very proud of that but can’t say it IRL as it sounds so smug .

I wonder how accurate your memories are? I've heard that we constantly tweak our memories without realising. I know that what I clearly remember from childhood is often not the same as what my brothers remember. It can be puzzling - and sometimes infuriating,!

Some (VERY rare) people do have this perfect recall. It must be a bit of a curse, I'm not sure I'd want to be able to remember everything people have said/done over the years... including (especially) myself!!!!!

I remember lots of things from childhood very vividly: it’s a mixed blessing, because I remember the bad as well as the good.

I think they’re pretty accurate! Sometimes my parents have confirmed things that I’ve said have happened when I was younger. Sometimes it’s the case that others just need a bit of nudging to also remember an event. I don’t remember exact words as much but more often things that have happened.

As @scalt said it’s a blessing and a curse because it means I can remember bad memories too. Growing up I used to think other people around me had really poor memory but it eventually dawned on me that mine was better than average.
