Just for fun!
One thing that I feel just makes me superior than most is that I am a twin mum. Can’t really explain it except that I feel like superwoman for growing 2 babies myself at once

one thing that will make me think you are cooler than most of if you’re left handed, no idea why, I just know I always wanted to be left handed when I was a kid😂

My daughter has complete heterochromia (2 completely different coloured eyes) and I think she looks super cool.

That is very cool. I don't know why it's so cool but it definitely is.

The taste version of synaesthesia really is the top tier. I'd love to experience that. I have the letters/numbers/words being colours one and the calendar/space one. And also I experience/feel specific textures for different musical instruments, which people always think is quite mad. But the taste one beats all those.

Your synaesthesia is pretty much the same as mine!

Owning a border collie. I do feel a bit smug when I'm out with him and other dogs as he's just so incredibly smart and alert compared to others. If I give him a job he will ensure that he completes it and then some! They really are the overachievers of the dog world.

Sorry, you are sadly mistaken. The best dog breeds are German Shepherds and Airedale Terriers.

Not 100% at punctuation though!

If you hand me a crying baby, it will stop crying.

That sounds potentially threatening 🙈

ChasingTheDuck · 30/12/2025 17:48

@EstoyRobandoSuCasaI'm not completely sure. I once did a work thing that talked about innate skills that aren't teachable and mine was this by a country mile. I think it's a bit of all of the things you suggest, approachable, smiley, make people feel like they're awesome (generally because they are). It's a bit of a running joke that if I move teams in my organisation within 12 months nearly all my old team have followed. It just works, and I don't ever take the piss with it, if I ask for something urgent, it's because it's needed and I'll go get the right level of person to help me, but I will also push back when it's not urgent and won't risk damaging good relationships for something not required other than for some higher up to pat themselves on the back.

My dh told me yesterday that I'm a really good driver after pulling off a tricky manoeuvre in a city centre car park! I'm also a pretty good aunt, because my dn all think I'm pretty cool!

Whereisthesun99 · 30/12/2025 17:54

I have my black belt in Karate,

Ariela · 30/12/2025 17:55

I can look at a map, memorise it, get in a vehicle and take you there without sat nav, without looking at the map again. Even if the destination is 3 or 4 hours plus away. Dead handy for finding venues when you're running late to a wedding for example. I can also tell you exactly where someone is if I know when they left and where they are heading. To the extent if I then phone someone on their way and say 'are you in x' or 'have you just passed J14' they are freaked out.

I can also reverse park swiftly and neatly, ending up exactly within the lines.

I can reverse park pretty well, but I envy your navigation skills! I'm good with OS maps and walking but road maps can bring me to tears.

My other super power is I can remember a colour, even for weeks. Say I bought a jacket in August and it has languished in my cupboard since then only been worn a couple of times. I can pick a patterned top, or a hat, in a shop today that has the exact same shade in it as the jacket.
It completely throws the lady in a local fabric shop. I get her to cut the fabric, while she does it I wander over to the thread display and pick the exact correct shade for the fabric. She doesn't know how I can do it. My cousin can also do this. I think my grandma also could, she was a very very talented seamstress/dressmaker in her time.

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 30/12/2025 18:02

I always win at yoga. The others in the class don't realise but I do

Yes, I realised that after I posted 😂

What I mean is, if you hand me a crying baby, I will very quickly settle them. I've often been tempted to offer my services to strangers in busy shops/planes/restaurants, but you'll be glad to know I have refrained. Friends and family are in awe of my baby-whispering skills, however.

I’m ORh- blood group. I think that’s pretty cool. Nobody else in my family has inherited both the recessive genes.
Ive also got extremely long eyelashes which people always comment on/ask if they’re false.
i also gave birth, twice, without any pain relief which is my proudest achievement

Edited

@ZippyGeorgeandBungle2 are you constantly asked to donate blood?

GoldenGeishaGirl · 30/12/2025 18:32

I’m a vault. If you tell me a secret, I won’t repeat it. It’s crazy how much I know about other people that I shouldn’t know (including about colleagues, friends and family) because there are so very few people around who can keep a secret.

Sorry you are both sadly mistaken. The best doggies are greyhounds. Said with complete impartiality.

Puffalicious · 30/12/2025 18:45

Like PPs I am also good at accents- mainly UK varieties, but can throw in American/ Aussie/Kiwi. I have been taken for a native Liverpudlian, Londoner, Mancunian & Aussie. I was also presumed to be an alumni of Cheltnam Ladies College in company. Not bad for a working class, Glaswegian.

All 3 of my DC are also great at accents, including the one with significant ASN.

DH sounds like an Indian Welshman no matter what accent he attempts, so it's definitely cool!

LorraineChandlericantholdon · 30/12/2025 18:48

I'm into Northern Soul 44 years counting.
Music doesnt get any better.✊😉

MsCactus · 30/12/2025 19:29

@amibeingaknob "I also always have randoms just pour out all their problems and life stories randomly to me. They always say they don't know why they are sharing with me, I dont either, but I like that people feel safe sharing things with me."

I have this too! No idea why. It happens so often that when I had a meeting at work with the CEO of a global FTSE100 company - the CEO ended up telling me about their fertility difficulties and how it was the hardest time of their life. No one else in the company knows about it, and I'd only just met them! It genuinely happens every time I meet someone. Didn't think of it as a superpower until now :)

IMTHECRAZYOLDLADY · 30/12/2025 19:34

I also have complete control of my two a German Shepherds. I’m well known in my area because I walk them both together under perfect obedience, even joggers happy jog past them

@ZippyGeorgeandBungle2 are you constantly asked to donate blood?

I can answer this as I am also O Rhesus Negative, and yes, we are constantly asked to give blood. I also have a high antibody profile apparently which means my blood goes to Neonatal babies (to protect them against as many viruses as possible)

My personal skill, other than that, is that I can guess any measurement; 100g flour, 14 inches, any clothing to fit a person perfectly.

What I cannot do is knit or crochet. Shocking Dyspraxia. Utterly useless in that regard.

IsoIsobaby20 · 30/12/2025 19:48

I have superior emotional intelligence - I have predicted a pregnancy an affair and a new job with colleagues when not one other person knew or suspected! I can read people really well and suspect when energy is off. It helps me a lot.
