Mould
Woodlice, earwigs, centipedes, occasional slugs and, once,
a toad.
It was an indoor bathroom but in what had been a lean to so had many similarities with an outdoor one!

Avon Pretty Peach bubble bath and soap on a rope.
A rubber hose and spray head thing that you put on the taps for hair washing.

Uptipp2025 · 20/12/2025 21:02

Flex shampoo and conditioner I loved the smell

TroysMammy · 20/12/2025 21:07

A halo to stop shampoo getting in your eyes. My mother's handmade yellow sponge/ foam flip flops to stop our damp feet wetting the bath mat.

Looploop · 20/12/2025 21:09

Weebles

JingleMyBellsChristmasSmells · 20/12/2025 21:10

Stick on floor tiles (very very modern as they replaced the pink carpet!), an electric heater, a small wicker ottoman thingy with a padded lid that loo rolls were stored in.

columnatedruinsdomino · 20/12/2025 21:12

Crazy Foam! I can still smell it. The angst when you pushed the button and it made that rasping empty noise. And it was a once-a-year treat as it cost over 8 shillings.

JackJarvisEsq · 20/12/2025 21:13

Edd the Duck bubble bath

Oh good grief I’d forgotten Crazy Foam! Loved that, used to get it for Christmas along with matey!

MyCatPrefersPeaches · 20/12/2025 21:29

I’d forgotten about bath pearls! We also had a shower curtain but the other thing that’s disappeared is pot pourri.

Oops, wrong thread. Meant to post on Strictly thread!

Dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

ShearLuxe · 20/12/2025 21:38

Potpourri.
I remember a bowl of it on the window sill. Purple and pink. I used to play with it when I was bored 😆

Pretend flowers
Bath pearls

ThankYouNigel · 20/12/2025 21:39

No bath pearls, but Matey is back! Bought one recently from ASDA, so nostalgic and my kids love it!

Vitriolinsanity · 20/12/2025 21:42

Flex conditioner.

manual toothbrush

toothpaste in metal tubes

Vitriolinsanity · 20/12/2025 21:46

And DM’s Harmony Hairspray and back comb.

Oh, I'd forgotten the Camberwick Green Toothpaste - we had the doctor one - I think it was cola flavoured! I also remember having some strawberry flavoured one, but I don't know what character that was. I'm pretty sure we had some Camberwick Green soap as well.

I'm glad someone else remembers it! We had cherry flavour.

pambeesleyhalpert · 20/12/2025 21:54

Matey bubble bath. Bought some for my daughters stocking a couple of years ago and she had a nasty reaction to it! Sad cos I used to always get one in my stocking!

Reading through thread, just waiting for someone to say crazy foam!! Loved it. (But those of us who remember it really are old)

Blingismything · 20/12/2025 22:10

One Christmas my sister and I poured a whole bottle of Matey in the bath and the water was navy blue. We then sat in it until the water was cold. Was great fun, Mum would have had time to get things prepared for Christmas Lunch.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 20/12/2025 22:10

Yes to Anne French deep cleansing milk, green apple shampoo, a pumice stone and a black loo seat.
Also a bottle of milk of magnesia in the bathroom cabinet.

NebulousDeadline · 20/12/2025 22:14

Fisher Price 3 men in a tub. More accurately, 2 out of the 3 men and no tub.
Towel on a loop on the back of the door.
Heating light bulb that did shite all and we were only allowed to use in very depths of winter.

Carpet.

Spent ages looking at houses online in Norfolk area, carpets are very much a thing there, as well as grandfather clocks weirdly. I honestly thought carpets in toilets were just not done anymore. Eww!
