A shower head/mixer thing on the taps for washing your hair with.

A bath rack.

ToddlerMumma · 20/12/2025 18:33

Talcum powder

Happyandkoiful · 20/12/2025 18:33

Talc, a pumice stone. Mum would cover us in talc as part of getting dry after a bath. Now it's known as a probable carcinogen! 😮

Ladymuckypuddle · 20/12/2025 18:34

Knitted toilet roll lady. Oh and a crocheted hanging thing with a ivy plant in it and those rubber shower hose things that attached to the bath taps and occasionally tried to take your skin off or turn you into a ice mummy.

Matey

Bath pearls.

Shower attachment like milking a cow on the taps for washing hair.
1970s wallpaper
Carpeted floor
Blow heater on wall.
Johnson baby powder on the shelf.
Cover on toilet seat

Old Spice aftershave

TheTecknician · 20/12/2025 18:36

A lino-covered floor. I moved out 25 years ago so I don't know what floor covering is in there now. My bathroom is tiled throughout.

OldPosterNewName2025 · 20/12/2025 18:37

A big jug for washing your hair in the sink (no shower in those days).

Simonjt · 20/12/2025 18:38

Another families toiletries (we didn’t have our own exclusive bathroom until I was about 14). A lightbulb thats also heating.

Gibbs toothpaste in a little round tin

tfu · 20/12/2025 18:38

We had an avocado green bathroom suite including bidet (mostly used for the dog to drink out of!) - my mum’s curlers, whole sideboard of make up. Hi karate talc, dried flower arrangements, bath pearls…

Pallisers · 20/12/2025 18:39

Copies of The Messenger on the side of the bath
Matey
Carpet
Green Apple Shampoo (I still miss that)

scalt · 20/12/2025 18:39

Here are a couple of obscure ones, from my childhood bathroom:
Taps in the corner of the bath.
A cold tap with a green colour in the centre, instead of blue.
Light switch on the wall (instead of a pull cord).
Shower attachment, which fitted over the taps.

An electric heater with one of those glowing red hot coil bars.

Mulledjuice · 20/12/2025 18:43

A mat that went round the base of the sink.

A draught

IdaGlossop · 20/12/2025 18:44

Pink bathroom suite (a muddy brown pink)
Two washbasins (my dad had two put in because my mum took ages to have a strip wash and he didn't want us children to be late for school or him for work)
Bottle of caster oil
Bottle of Brilliantine hair oil

GovernmentFundedSteak · 20/12/2025 18:44

A little basket full of shaped soap from The Body Shop. They never got used. I think we binned them when we moved house.

Shower curtain

I totally misread your title as Childhood Bedroom and was trying to work out why you had a shower curtain in your bedroom as a kid!

For me it would be:
Bath pearls (that always went in my eye).
Bath salts.
Weird mat round the loo that matched the bathmat.
Carpet, later followed by lino.
Mirrored medicine cabinet on the wall.
