A plastic skirt thing that went round the sink to hide the pedestal. Very thick carpet. Vosene and matey. Bath tap attachment to make a shower, electric heater on the wall. Ajax scouring powder. A few copies of auto trader or whatever other magazine my dad wanted. Loo seat cover. Imperial leather bar of soap.

Helancyl massager - supposed to get rid of cellulite! (not that I had any, aged 21!)

A rubber mat inside the bath with suckers under it. Lumpy to sit on

A Kiku yellow ball thing for my mums posh talc. It had a yellow tassel on it. Glorious.

An avocado green toothbrush pot with an orange flower on it. It was full of tooth paste gunk 🤢

CrepuscularCritter · 20/12/2025 19:22

Green bubble bath that smelt of pine 🎍 in a glass bottle the shape of a bear. When the bubble bath was gone, there was a slot on the lid that could be pushed theough to turn it into a money box.

Piglet89 · 20/12/2025 19:23

Carpet and a bar of soap.

TheTecknician · 20/12/2025 19:23

We also had Crest and Close-Up toothpaste which I haven't seen for years. Probably both rebranded.

Gunpowder · 20/12/2025 19:31

OMG the Punch and Judy toothpaste! I’d completely forgotten that.

We also had a bidet, and some giant shells, one of them was for the bath pearls. Ooh and pot pourri in a little wicker basket. Think there was also wallpaper and a v. flouncy Roman blind in Laura Ashley blind which I thought was BEAUTIFUL.

Dearg · 20/12/2025 19:34

Kiki - I had forgotten that. I never got to use it .

Heyhelga · 20/12/2025 19:34

A shower head attachment to the bath taps with the rubber seals around the taps

NosebleedsHHT · 20/12/2025 19:38

Around Christmas Body shop stuff.

deste · 20/12/2025 19:40

A parafin lamp to stop the pipes freezing. Do I win.

echt · 20/12/2025 19:40

A bottle of Milton.

heymammy · 20/12/2025 19:40

My dad's soap on a rope and a pumice stone.

We also had the loveliest green soap shaped like an apple, think it was from Avon, smelled amazing!

Silverbirchleaf · 20/12/2025 19:42

I don't know & I think they'd find it a bit weird if I knocked & asked to look in their bathroom 😳😳

HorribleHisTories15 · 20/12/2025 19:51

@Wordswe bought this Vosene from Sainsbury’s a fortnight ago for under £3. The packaging has modernised but it’s still the same old stuff. There‘s a hair spray too!

A brilliant large rectangular sink unit (approximately 2m x 70cm) in white enamel which, as well as the sink, comprised a big, flat area next to the sink where babies could be changed, hygiene products stored, hand-washed items laundered and scrubbed etc. It was super handy. The bathroom was enormous (a separate shower cubicle, a bathtub, the giant sink, a regular sink, a toilet, a bidet, a seating group, a double floor to ceiling cupboard / dresser, a door to the hall as well as a door to the guest bedroom (weird) and a door to a balcony. It was a family bathroom in the true meaning of the word -we would often be in there all together, a family of 5, getting ready in the mornings. We had a small toilet upstairs for weeing and pooing in private.

RanchRat · 20/12/2025 20:00

tin bath

Breathmiller · 20/12/2025 20:04

These tiles. Ours were peach. My Gran's were pink I think. I saw a funny creature skiing.

They were called 'chicken tiles'due to the pattern
Came in four and quarter inch and six x six.
