What Christmas food have you bought, eaten and replaced so far?

Despite promising ourselves we’d wait until Christmas Eve we have eaten:

1 pack of Lidl shortbread
1 pack of Lidl shortbread bought to replace the first one. Now need to buy another but not until the weekend.
DH polished off the almond and rosemary crackers plus a bag of taralli.
1 pack of Lidl spiced biscuits.
2 x caramelised onion cheese wheels.
1 x black garlic cheese wheel.
I’ve opened the pickled onions (see above).

We need an intervention!

1 box of Lindors
1 box of stollens

Numerous boxes of mince pies.

I eat a warm mince pie every single night from 1st November onwards.

we bought big mix from M&S but won’t replace those.

A box of Bendicks Bittermints (shared with teenager who only normally likes white or milk chocolate). Gah !

Not this year, but one past Christmas I splurged on some stupidly extravagant rum in which to soak the fruit for my Christmas cake. It was so very delicious that I (absolutely not an habitual rum imbiber) kept visiting the bottle for another taste. So had to invest in yet another bottle to feed the cake. Most expensive cake I’ve ever made.

Most years I manage to resist buying any mince pies at all for home consumption. This year I’ve already stuffed so many Waitrose pies into my face, I cannot look at another one.

One chocolate orange

Run - asking for trouble I bet you knew you’d drink it…he he…I did same with Xmas cake brandy last year 🤷🏻‍♀️

Waitrose cinnamon knots. One box eaten.....three more boxes will be purchased next time I go because otherwise they'll never make it to Christmas Day.

The whole stollen I made, which was as big as a baby! Had to make a new one yesterday.

Soooo many Kinder Father Christmases.

I always intend to give one to DH, then eat it. Buy and repeat.

Obviously Terrys chocolate orange... number 4 and counting.

Not this year, but around 15 years ago when the tubs of chocolates first appeared for Christmas, I ended up buying and eating four tubs, on my own, before having to buy the final one for Christmas!

Christmas cake. From Aldi. With a sliver slab of cheese.
I’ve deliberately not yet bought nuts or a tin of shortbread for this reason.

I haven’t replaced the Baileys … learned my lesson. Christmas starts in early December, I think.

I LOVE these! Have managed not to open by one box in the cupboard yet.
