Despite promising ourselves we’d wait until Christmas Eve we have eaten:

1 pack of Lidl shortbread
1 pack of Lidl shortbread bought to replace the first one. Now need to buy another but not until the weekend.
DH polished off the almond and rosemary crackers plus a bag of taralli.
1 pack of Lidl spiced biscuits.
2 x caramelised onion cheese wheels.
1 x black garlic cheese wheel.
I’ve opened the pickled onions (see above).

We need an intervention!

Greggs mince pies rather a lot of them

One tub of cheese footballs
One bag of quality street strawberry and orange creams
One chocolate orange

Oh dear! I forgot about the bags (3!) of quality street orange and strawberry creams I will not replace they are too lush. I am now onto the Wittikers fruit creams and the rose and violet ones…..shameful behaviour

Wrapping never acted as a deterrent in our house.

Tbf it didn't help with any of the stocking filler chocolate...!

6 packs of Greggs mince pies and most of the chocolate tree decorations which never made it to the tree. The threads were so thin you couldn’t grasp them so just chucked them in the old cake hole.

Two tubs of quality street and a pack of outrageously expensive but delicious filled dates from M&S.
And all the expensive cheese from M&S.
From a shop that cost £133…for three carrier bags full!!!!!
Ah well it’s Christmas!

CaffeineAndChords · 15/12/2025 23:02

Toblerones. 3 of the fuckers.

Hollyhobbi · 15/12/2025 23:06

Frozen cinnamon rolls and a packet of panforte slices from Dunnes and a tube of the mystery flavour Pringles!

RosesAndHellebores · 15/12/2025 23:06

Nothing bought so nothing eaten.
I shall buy some nice chocolate and cheese when I nip into London next Monday.
Will do a shop on 23rd and buy some pate and smoked salmon and some antipasti. We aren't entertaining this year.

PowerTulle · 15/12/2025 23:06

One stollen
One batch of mince pies baked for the freezer (didn’t even make it into a container)
Two boxes of biscuits for cheese
Sloe gin made in September
Jar of cranberry sauce (used in sandwiches)

I’ve also eaten a box of posh chocs bought as an extra tree gift. Fortunately I preemptively got a spare box in case this exact situation happened (which I’ll probably scoff this week).

tipsyraven · 15/12/2025 23:11

I’ve met my people!

Half a tub of Celebrations
Rosemary crackers
The panettone is staring at me so that won’t last much longer.

Poke its eyes out then it can’t stare at you any longer.

canonlydoblue · 15/12/2025 23:22

The Baileys of course!

BirdyBedtime · 15/12/2025 23:23

Several boxes of Aldi mini stollen. Although they aren't really FOR Christmas as we just like them.

And at least 3 packs of pigs in blankets. We had them in rolls for breakfast at the weekend. What heaven!

BackHomeForChristmas · 15/12/2025 23:26

DP : Tub of Twiglets and some posh crisps. He was making eyes at the pickled onion jar, but I managed to talk him out of it!

Me : Box of Toblerone pieces last night and I did have a little taste of the posh crisps.

BackHomeForChristmas · 15/12/2025 23:30

@EchoedSilence

please please tell me where you got the QS orange and strawberry creams?
They are my absolute favourite of any boxed chocolates!

FollowSpot · 15/12/2025 23:35

A tub of Celebrations
A box of amaretti
2 boxes of mince pies

Not bad, considering.

I could not find normal, no fancy flavour, cocoa dusted truffles last year so when they appeared in Aldi a few weeks ago I might have bought a couple of boxes - and obviously just needed to taste test one or two (boxes).
Of course I'm now seeing truffles everywhere this year!

I'm 😯 at some of the confessions on here. FOUR tubs of QS all to yourself? Wow.

SheRa · 15/12/2025 23:49

Numerous mince pies
Twiglets
Marmite cashews
Belgian truffles
Chocolate gingerbread biscuits
Brie
Mint chocolate crisps
Aldi tomato bruschetta

What Christmas food have you bought, eaten and replaced so far?
MissHelenSweetstory · 15/12/2025 23:51

I'm still finishing off last year's chocolates even though they are a bit stale🙄
Haven't started shopping for this year yet.

Grumpynan · 15/12/2025 23:58

I’ve told DH that I refuse to buy another tub of kp honey nuts, so he won’t have any for Christmas now.

unfortunately he shrugged and said he had seen my secret stash 🙄 so he knows he’s safe.

im a little worried about the baileys situation, I’ve drunk the one from my secret stash (not my fault DD needed cheering up so we had hot chocolate on Saturday night .

soupmaker · 16/12/2025 00:04

A bag of M&S merry munch - never even made it into the tin.

Got stuck into some of the Christmas cheese by mistake.

Need to do a raid on the Aldi Christmas aisle then lock it all away.

lingmerth · 16/12/2025 00:07

mint matchmakers.
thought I’d start early with Xmas treats and got a box in October. I’ve had to replace it every week since then.

Sbmpp · 16/12/2025 00:14

Fruitcakes…more than two!!!
