Despite promising ourselves we’d wait until Christmas Eve we have eaten:

1 pack of Lidl shortbread
1 pack of Lidl shortbread bought to replace the first one. Now need to buy another but not until the weekend.
DH polished off the almond and rosemary crackers plus a bag of taralli.
1 pack of Lidl spiced biscuits.
2 x caramelised onion cheese wheels.
1 x black garlic cheese wheel.
I’ve opened the pickled onions (see above).

We need an intervention!

White Toffifee...2 boxes gone so far..... ok 3. They are lush.

LadyDanburysHat · 16/12/2025 15:14

Amazingly nothing this year, but only because I haven't really bought anything in advance. Usually I go through a tub or two of heroes.

I love this thread!

I bought a box of fancy mince pies last week, noticed the use by date was the next day, so I ate one and force fed my electrician with the rest when he came to do some work. I ordered another box yesterday with a much longer shelf life and I want to open them right now!

I've eaten the rose and lavender flavoured chocolates. More on order.

I've eaten all of the crisps. More being delivered on Friday. I'll probably have polished those off by the end of Saturday.

AF kopperberg and Crawfords rhubarb drinks. Gone. Also reordered and coming Friday.

'Naice' fancy cheese. I'm giving that a hard stare.

My dog sitter is here tomorrow whilst I'm out so I'm trying hard to leave her some yummy snacks. And my DS has announced he is going to stay for a couple of days twixmas so I'll have to get another order placed!

shellyleppard · 16/12/2025 15:21

@Hmmmmwineandchocs they are available by mail order. Bit expensive but soooo good!!

gogomomo2 · 16/12/2025 15:22

That’s why I don’t buy “keep til Christmas” foods anymore, I just eat them. We have munched through multiple stollens and boxes of minced pies but never had any illusions of them being kept. We are away this year but even if I’m home I go shopping 2 days before Christmas max

NotBreckfastAtTiffanysItsBreckfastInSouthampton · 16/12/2025 15:26

Well I only made the chicken stretch for two meals instead of the usual four.

FestiveFruitloop · 16/12/2025 15:37

A box of Roses and some Viennese pastry mince pies. Annoyed with myself and not buying more till this weekend.

Crunchymum · 16/12/2025 15:43

We've eaten 2 out of 3 packets of the Waitrose Cinnamon Knots.

Went to replace them yesterday and they are out of stock. Still out of stock today as well.

I will be checking daily 😳

My son’s tube of mini Rolos for his stocking. I’ve replaced them but I’m not confident I won’t be tempted again!

Are you well?

Yes, thank you. I had a bit of a cold but over that now. What about you?

MinnieMountain · 17/12/2025 06:12

@Crunchymum the Asda cinnamon knots are just as good as the Waitrose ones.

propercoppercoffeepot · 17/12/2025 06:20

Countless celebrations tubs.... a few bottles of wine and way too many foxes biscuits. 😆

Thank you. Although I don't have an Asda anywhere near me 😥

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 17/12/2025 06:30

I'm on my 3rd box of Christmas cracker and pretzel selection. Those things are addictive.

CandyflossKid · 17/12/2025 07:15

For the first time ever........ nothing!

Have usually eaten a lot of the Christmas 'stuff' by now as i just couldn't help myself.

Except this year I've started on weightloss injections and although I've bought food for other people and presents, I have no interest in eating it at all which I'm very happy about.
