Just horrendous. There was a big Jewish gathering on the beach. Jewish festival goers targeted by two gunmen. At least ten people dead according to police.

I think of them a little as the ‘incels’ of Islam.

As in, the shooters today were certainly not dressed ‘religiously’ and it wouldn’t surprise me to hear they were not regular Mosque attendees (although we will see, of course).

I also wonder whether actually Islam is a bit of a red herring in that the only link is the fact the shooters are Muslim and Gaza (if indeed uncovered as the motive) is Muslim, but the actual religious teaching is not the crux of the matter, the revenge is. Does that make sense? As in, it’s driven by political rather than religious reasons but the reason those political views weee developed is under the framework of Islam.

I still think there needs to be far more condemnation from Muslims, and the messages like the one from Adnan Hussain just aren’t good enough and are borderline offensive. We spent the whole of the 2000s being cautioned that Muslims mustn’t be blamed for the actions of various bombers, and of course they shouldn’t be, but this mindset has not been afforded to Jews who are relentlessly persecuted for the actions of the Israeli government.

I see the Paris New Year celebrations in the Champs Elysees have been cancelled. They must have decent intel that something might happen.

Christmas markets, NYE, Hanukkah parties… and we all have to pretend that there’s nothing to see here.

One thing that won’t ever be cancelled is the Pro Palestine marches though.

I can’t speak for anyone else but I’m personally sick of people, children and babies being murdered from every fucking which way and side possible. I don’t care who is right, wrong, I don’t care what team you support or what flavour you are, couldn’t give a flying fuck what was promised you by dinosaurs or what was promised you last week. I am sick of seeing children being left without family, or limbs, Im sick of people being victims of terror attacks and Im sick of people being victims of genocide. The amount of evil that we have seen over the last few years is staggering. We’ve seen babies, children, innocent civilians die at the hands of blood thirsty psychopaths and I can’t express how little I give a fuck who is to blame, be it someone from 1000s of years ago or two hours ago, we are watching innocent people die daily and it needs to fucking stop. The amount of hatred, antisemitism, racism in the world is unfathomable and depressing enough but to see the atrocities that are occurring every day, it’s harrowing. It’s like witnessing a brutal fist fight outside a pub where someone is going to be killed and there isn’t anyone able to break it up.
I have Jewish family (blood related) and Muslim family (through marriage) and we all have our own views on the origins Palestine but we all largely feel that every single death has been nothing but a heartbreaking tragedy. Like I say, I’m not remotely interested in who is to blame for what atrocities, I just want it from every side, to stop.

There isn’t a solution. It’s simple, there isn’t. All we can do is work without taking “sides” to stop more innocents being slaughtered. I don’t know a single person who is either Jewish or Muslim who has taken any joy in the other religion being a victim to violence. These are the people who need to speak up, the people who are on the side of no more death to innocents.

Tell me about the Manchester Arena Attacks. About Bataclan. About the Boston Marathon Bombing. About September 11. All of which happened before Hamas attacked civilians on Israeli territory and before Israel retaliated.

What was the motivation there? Do you recognise that? Tell me about that. Tell me how you think those attacks were understandable.
