habin · 14/12/2025 10:00

Just horrendous. There was a big Jewish gathering on the beach. Jewish festival goers targeted by two gunmen. At least ten people dead according to police.

Just out of interest, how do you feel about the lack of religious freedom in Saudi Arabia?

I think it's awful. I can't stand that already wealthy people go there to make even more money. It makes my blood boil, as does the current Saudi tourist campaign. It's not a country I'll be visiting until there is a democracy and religious freedom.

Let me repeat myself, it seems you haven't understood.
Westerners expelled Jews out of Europe and killed 6 millions of them.
It would appear that it is yourselves that have always had an issue.

Are you high?

My mother always said we should have more than one passport just in case. And we all do. Most Jewish people I know have a vague escape plan - usually a very illogical one based on some story in their family.

God this is awful. I'm so sorry. Humanity sucks. 🙁

What's on paper, and what's in reality is very different. In East Germany the consitution guranteed many rights to citizens, which didn't happen in reality. Same in Israel for Arabs.

The reality? Like an Arab Judge having the power to send a former Jewish Prime Minister to prison, and actually doing do?

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 14/12/2025 18:06

OneFunBrickNewt · 14/12/2025 17:54

Whataboutery alert.
There are small Jewish communities in North African Muslim countries, Eg Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, but I don't think that's the point of your question.
I'd love for Jews and Muslims to be able to live in peace across the Middle East, and Christians too. I don't see the issue with stating the truth that Arabs don't have the same rights in reality as Jews do, as it happens to be true.

“whataboutery alert”

About the safety of Jews in Muslims countries on a thread about a Muslim terror attack on Jews??

REALLY??

Teddleshon1 · 14/12/2025 18:07

These two attackers won the lottery of life by gaining Australian citizenship. I just cannot get my head around why you would respond to this incredible opportunity and stroke of good fortune by importing violence and hatred from the other side of the planet.

Some people will still try to convince themselves that these marches don’t have a strong whiff of hatred of Jewish people about them.
I can’t imagine how terrifying it is to be Jewish in this day and age.

Edited

Indeed. If people were as vocal about Sudan or Afghanistan or other terrible happenings, I'd accept it has nothing to do with anti-semitism. But despite all the claims to the contrary "it's only because our government is doing nothing about it" type comment" we know the real reason people jump on the Gaza bandwagon. I am not Jewish and as far as I know have no Jewish heritage so have no chip on my shoulder at all but it seems blatantly obvious to me.

And then we get this.

Well I presume they are all happy with themselves now.

It's 2025 and we still have religion: a stone age fairytale used by cults to control people through hate and division. I'm beyond fed up with all the conflicts and atrocities that come with religion.

why can’t you name it? Lack of courage here tbh

Because Gaza has become a free pass for people with an existing deep seated hatred of Jews, and the West, to commit acts of violence against them.

They’ll have all the left wing morons with their mealy mouthed ‘well I don’t support it but Gaza…’ to back them up.

Islam is a peaceful religion, what you re doing, is like blaming Christianity for Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Mankind is the biggest enemy to us all, its us, we are violent creatures, whose cruelty often knows no bounds.

There is good and bad of us in all of us & some in all religions will use whatever excuse to justify evil acts.

The man who tackled one gunman was a Muslim, he showed bravery that me or you will never possess.

@Teddleshon1 - totally agree. This attack is absolutely heartbreaking and horrifying. So much endless violence and hatred with history endlessly repeating itself and apparently no lessons learned.

As a grandchild of an Orthodox Jew and a British citizen, I'm neither have 'an existing deep seated hatred of Jews, and the West' but yes, the genocide in Gaza means I'm not happy with the current far right Israeli gov.

Nobody has said that Muslims are inherently worse people than anyone else, more Muslims have been killed by radical Islam than anyone else. Islam as a scriptural religion is peaceful, but in practical terms it isn’t because it has been interpreted in the most violent and political manner possible.

Until ordinary Muslims are willing to be very vocal about no longer tolerating hate preaching, or tacit support of the destruction of the West and its people, we are at a stalemate and cannot go anywhere.

Whenever there’s a violent threat to a minority you get ENORMOUS counter protests by white Westerners to say ‘not in my name’. We need this in reverse, but it’s just not happening.

I’m genuinely worried Mr Ahmed will get all kinds of shit for putting an end to this bloodbath and saving Jewish lives.

Don't be so hate filled & divisive, no one with any socialist beliefs would attempt to justify this heinous attack on innocent peoples. celebrating a great festival.

It should be remembered that the greatest atrocities committed against the Jewish peoples was done by those on claimed to be on the right of politics BUT you will never hear me (left of centre) or anyone with left of centre views, ever saying bad things about people with opposing views on a day like this.

It was those on the left that first opposed Hitler/the far right, first in Spain (Franco) and then in Germany, communists were the first to be killed by the Nazi's.

Time and a place for political debate

This is an evil act, no justification whatsoever.

NewmumOct · 14/12/2025 18:16

So as a muslim, people educating me about 'radical islam' is unbelievable. The ideology you refer to as 'radical islam' is actually referred to as 'khawaraj'. These people have existed within muslims for centuries. They pray, fast, give charity. In fact the only way to differentiate them from a normal practising muslim is when and if you ever hear there opinions and believes on certain in regards to our faith. For example if you commit a sin such a stealing you are a disbeliever. You deserve the worst punishment imaginable. Essentially they are insane extremist and yes very frightening. Our prophet decribed them as the dogs of hellfire. They rain terror across muslim countries. Somalia, Iraq, Iran, and syria are some with large group. They mainly target normal muslims as they believe we are the most sinful and deserve the most punishment. Its simple, if you don't agree with my extemist views you are a disbeliever and deserve death.

Many countries have done a great job of supressing these groups of people. The way to do it is ensure a correct and clean understanding of islam. Thats why these groups do not operate in saudi, UAE , Oman etc. From a young age, people in these countries understand Islam and most importantly understand the horrors of the 'khawaraj'. If they do exist they are imprisoned and punished. There are many ways to tackle 'khawarajs', but without the acknowlegdment and understanding of these groups of people, the western world will always struggle to get a hold. Muslims are very isolated in the UK, those that understand the religion and can effectively combat 'khawaraj' are often not given the right tools, platform and worry about falling into the hands of islamaphobia. We obviously do not help ourselves either. Many muslims do not learn the basics of their faith and some are easily radicalised into believing that terror is normal - hence muslim terrorist carrying out disgusting crimes against humanity. And the reality is that there are just truly evil humans on this earth in any groups of people.

But the whole reason i am writing this, is i just wished people would actually read about islam and understand it better. Too many people in this country careless to understand what 'radical islam' actually means. What does islam say about this? What did the Prophet teach? How should they be dealt with in islam? What does islam say about mass murder or murder?

Using labels such as 'radical islam' and essentially subtly categorising muslims ( lets be honest practising muslims with thobes and niqabs) under this label is incorrect and unfair. Radical islamist and normal muslims can look the same, dress the same etc. The difference is what they think and believe fundamentally. Whether they are filled with rage and hate. How they views otherwise that do not have the same beliefs as them, etc.

What has the west’s past got to do with what happened today?

The west has absolutely had a reckoning with itself, no more so than Germany, who are routinely slated on the CITME board for their stance on Israel. However…

Was it Westerners who murdered the Jewish people celebrating today?

Was it was Westerners who carried out 7/10?

Is it Westerners killing Jewish people in the UK, France and elsewhere in Europe?

Was it Westerners who expelled almost 1 million Jews from the Middle East and North Africa?

What have Westerners got to do with this?

MaturingCheeseball · 14/12/2025 18:16

As a pp said, we know little of all the foiled attacks. There was a planned car attack on a Bavarian Christmas market. Five men have been arrested, including an Imam .

Lord Wolfson has said that Jews are the canary in the coal mine. Anyone who is minimising the Bondi Beach shootings - or indeed quasi-excusing them - will find that their complacency is a mistake.

I know this thread is turning into the usual bun fight, but honestly, my eyes are full of tears watching that incredible man, Ahmed al Ahmed, wrestle an armed terrorist’s gun away from him. Putting his own life at risk to save others. A brave soul. The footage of him sitting on the ground being tended to shows an ordinary man. Except he’s anything but ordinary.

I was a bit teary too, what a man

What on God’s green Earth are you talking about?

6 million Jews were murdered by Nazi Germany. The UK gave half a million lives to stop this evil spreading and liberate the people already captured.

You sound extremely confused
